\nAlfie Kohn comes to the Univ. of Ark. at Fayetteville to distribute his Marxist\/Communist approach to public education, obviously with the approval of Chancellor G. David Gearhart and other administrators. <\/p>\n

Cultural Marxist\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s have at last created enough success in the matter of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153education\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, and of course other endeavors, that they no longer feel the need to mask their Collectivist agenda.
\nMr. Kohn is proud to announce that his work has appeared in any number of left-leaning publications, e.g. The New York Times, USA Today, Huffington Post, and Education Week.
\nRight at the get-go Kohn slams the very bulwark that allowed America to achieve preeminence, speaking of what was formerly known as public schools now known as government schools, by stating \u00e2\u20ac\u0153grades, homework, and competition undermine an innate desire in children to explore and discover\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.   This can be refuted by two words\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6A Lie.  <\/p>\n

Kohn goes on to say \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Every study that has been done on the use of grades and motivation has found a negative effect on the latter\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.  Name one legitimate study, Mr. Kohn, and how do you explain the successes of American education up to the point where government seized complete control of public education by shaking the funding carrot under the noses of corrupt education unions, administrators, governors and state legislators.

\nKohn comes forth with his coup d\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 etat \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 They (parents) have to choose whether they want children to boast about attending a selective college or earning a high income, or whether they want to develop adults who are happy, ethical, caring, and creative people\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.  Obviously, achievement and earned self-esteem mean nothing to Comrade Kohn, just the creation of uneducated groups of automatons who cannot think for themselves or dissent.

\nKohn does appreciate one form of Capitalism, that being the $6,500 fee he is receiving for spewing his Communist views which destroy young people\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s minds and eliminates any possible ability to discuss and\/or debate logically or objectively. <\/p>\n

Another example of self-serving educrats throwing hard-earned taxpayer money to the winds, while the Univ. of Ark. system has the audacity to raise tuition.<\/p>\n

Marsha Jones, a feather-bedding Associate Superintendent for the Springdale School System, echoes some of Kohn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s bloviating by stating \u00e2\u20ac\u0153the district places an emphasis on educating the whole child which means paying attention to emotional, social, and health needs\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <\/p>\n

These are the very reasons the U.S. has tumbled from #1 in education in the world to a shameful, pitiful #23.<\/p>\n
