A
\nFort Smith illegal-immigration opponent has filed suit against the
\nArkansas State Police because it gives driver\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s license instructions
\nand examinations in Spanish, the complainant\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s attorney confirmed
\nMonday.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We feel the lawsuit has merit because it violates the
\nEnglish-as-official-language statute,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Sam \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Chip\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sexton III, who
\nrepresents Joe McCutchen.<\/p>\n

Sexton said providing the
\nSpanish-language materials also violates a code requiring driver\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s
\nlicense applicants to demonstrate their ability to read and understand
\nthe state\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s highway and traffic laws.<\/p>\n

McCutchen, who in the past
\nparticipated in the Minuteman Project guarding the U.S.-Mexico border,
\nseeks an injunction against providing the materials, which he alleges
\nis an illegal exaction of public funds.<\/span><\/font>
