{"id":592,"date":"2008-02-10T21:42:00","date_gmt":"2008-02-10T21:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.arkansasfreedom.net\/?p=592"},"modified":"2008-02-10T21:42:00","modified_gmt":"2008-02-10T21:42:00","slug":"ark-poultry-others-coverup-leprosy-tbillegals-foreign-born","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arkansasfreedom.net\/?p=592","title":{"rendered":"Ark. poultry &#038; others coverup leprosy &#038; TB\/illegals &#038; foreign born"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=black><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Officials: <span class=\"Heading2Char\"><span style=\"font-size: 13pt; line-height: 115%;\">L<\/span><\/span>eprosy story false\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<span style=\"\">&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><span style=\"\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Leprosy,<br \/>\nTB Rumors Untrue\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<span style=\"\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>February<br \/>\n10, 2008<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Thursday February 7, 2008 Fort Smith\/Fayetteville Ch. 5 KFSM,<br \/>\nreported Springdale\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153medical community\u00e2\u20ac\u009d was warning the public that a leprosy<br \/>\noutbreak \u00e2\u20ac\u0153could blossom into an epidemic\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">The story sent the chambers of commerce in Springdale, Rogers,<br \/>\nand Fayetteville into a frenzy, denying vehemently the existence of a leprosy<br \/>\nand tuberculosis outbreak in Springdale. <span style=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span>Why?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">February 8<sup>th<\/sup> the Arkansas Health Department,<br \/>\nBranch Chief of Infectious Diseases, Dr. James R. Phillips said \u00e2\u20ac\u0153there has<br \/>\nnever been an epidemic of leprosy\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ninety-five percent of the population<br \/>\nare genetically resistant to leprosy\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Dr. Phillips said \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We have had leprosy in Arkansas since<br \/>\nforever\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">I am a native Arkansan, 50 year practicing pharmacist<br \/>\ninvolved in academic settings, involved in durable medical equipment, teaching,<br \/>\ncontinuing education and never has leprosy been mentioned in any medical or<br \/>\npharmacy issues.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Regarding TB and polio,<br \/>\nboth for the most part were wiped out in the 60\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and have been reintroduced by<br \/>\nforeign nationals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Dr. Phillips stated \u00e2\u20ac\u0153some people get the idea that leprosy<br \/>\njust came with the Marshallese. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not true\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <span style=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span>He later stated it came from Hispanics. Who<br \/>\ncomprises the hundreds of thousands of illegal invaders in our state?<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Roughly 75% of leprosy cases in Arkansas and the U.S. during<br \/>\nthe last decade have been among \u00e2\u20ac\u0153foreign born individuals,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d including Marshallese,<br \/>\nHispanics and others who have entered our country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">In the matter of TB, more than 55% of cases are among<br \/>\nforeign born. <span style=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Dr. Phillips also said that leprosy is a substantial issue<br \/>\nin the Marshall Islands.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Phillips stated<br \/>\nflippantly that both diseases are treated with antibiotics, but did not report<br \/>\nthe outcomes. <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">KFSM\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s story said they based their report on statements by<br \/>\nlocal physicians.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Note the word plural<br \/>\nregarding physicians.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Two stories appeared<br \/>\n2\/9\/8 in the Fort Smith Times Record &amp; the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reporting<br \/>\nonly the corporate\/political point of view.<span style=\"\">&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>None from the medical community. <span style=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span>If a serious investigation were intended, the<br \/>\nstate and border states\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 pharmacists would be consulted also. <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Very serious questions arise from this gloss over. <span style=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span>A brief definition of Fascism: Fascism is a<br \/>\nnexus between corporations and governments, producing a symbiotic relationship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Note that Dr. James R. Phillips responded the day after the<br \/>\nstory broke that it was a hoax and there was not an approaching epidemic of TB<br \/>\nand leprosy. A protection racket reaction? <span style=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span>Chiming in at the same time were such renowned<br \/>\nauthorities in Infectious Diseases as Perry Webb, Springdale\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Chamber<br \/>\nPresident, accompanied by Senator Bill Pritchard and his authoritative<br \/>\nstatement, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153everybody needs to take a deep breath and calm down.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u0153There has<br \/>\nbeen no outbreak. <span style=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span>I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know who put<br \/>\nthat information out there, but there is absolutely no evidence of an outbreak<br \/>\nor epidemic\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">This is indeed assuring since it comes from a career N.W.<br \/>\nArkansas politician. <span style=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span>Pritchard says who<br \/>\nput the information out there?<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>He should<br \/>\nbe aware of the big picture before he runs his mouth.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Springdale physicians made the assertion, as<br \/>\nstated above.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Then comes Dr. Phillips, career bureaucrat, who the day<br \/>\nafter the story broke said the false report \u00e2\u20ac\u0153just makes people panic\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<span style=\"\">&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>My question to Dr. Phillips; without<br \/>\nconsulting with the Springdale medical community, how do you know the report is<br \/>\nfalse?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">The crucial thing to remember is both the TB and leprosy bacillus<br \/>\nare airborne and spread through the inhalation of infected particles from an<br \/>\ninfected individual who is coughing.<span style=\"\">&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>Think a line of Tyson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s poultry employees for example.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">There are 6-8,000 Marshalleses living in Springdale, the<br \/>\nlargest population outside the Islands.<span style=\"\">&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>Who do you suppose these folks work for?<span style=\"\">&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>Let me give a clue, one of the largest crime families in the U.S., the<br \/>\nTyson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and by all means, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t forget the tens of thousands illegal Mexican<br \/>\naliens who live in the crime infested cities of Fayetteville, Springdale,<br \/>\nBentonville, and Rogers.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Home to the<br \/>\nWalton\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, the Tyson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, the Hunt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, the George\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, ad infinitum. <span style=\"\">&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span>And Rogers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 resident Congressman John<br \/>\nBoozman. <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Not one of these individuals, organizations, or politicians<br \/>\nhas spoken to the involved medical community residing in NW Arkansas, yet in<br \/>\nless than 24 hours, politicians, bureaucrats, and corporations killed the story,<br \/>\nand are calling certain Springdale physicians liars. <span style=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span>This is the most significant story regarding Arkansas<br \/>\nhealth care that has broken in our state re: the legal immigrant and the<br \/>\nillegal Mexican and OTM invasion, which dramatically demonstrates the introduction<br \/>\nand reintroduction of diseases which never existed here or were eradicated<br \/>\ndecades ago.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">You are now privy to a vivid, cruel example of Fascism. <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">It also must be noted that Gov. Mike Beebe, Cong.
