\n10, 2008<\/p>\n

Thursday February 7, 2008 Fort Smith\/Fayetteville Ch. 5 KFSM,
\nreported Springdale\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153medical community\u00e2\u20ac\u009d was warning the public that a leprosy
\noutbreak \u00e2\u20ac\u0153could blossom into an epidemic\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <\/p>\n

The story sent the chambers of commerce in Springdale, Rogers,
\nand Fayetteville into a frenzy, denying vehemently the existence of a leprosy
\nand tuberculosis outbreak in Springdale.  <\/span>Why?<\/p>\n

February 8th<\/sup> the Arkansas Health Department,
\nBranch Chief of Infectious Diseases, Dr. James R. Phillips said \u00e2\u20ac\u0153there has
\nnever been an epidemic of leprosy\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ninety-five percent of the population
\nare genetically resistant to leprosy\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n

Dr. Phillips said \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We have had leprosy in Arkansas since
\nforever\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <\/p>\n

I am a native Arkansan, 50 year practicing pharmacist
\ninvolved in academic settings, involved in durable medical equipment, teaching,
\ncontinuing education and never has leprosy been mentioned in any medical or
\npharmacy issues.  <\/span>Regarding TB and polio,
\nboth for the most part were wiped out in the 60\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and have been reintroduced by
\nforeign nationals.<\/p>\n

Dr. Phillips stated \u00e2\u20ac\u0153some people get the idea that leprosy
\njust came with the Marshallese. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not true\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.  <\/span>He later stated it came from Hispanics. Who
\ncomprises the hundreds of thousands of illegal invaders in our state?  <\/span><\/p>\n

Roughly 75% of leprosy cases in Arkansas and the U.S. during
\nthe last decade have been among \u00e2\u20ac\u0153foreign born individuals,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d including Marshallese,
\nHispanics and others who have entered our country.<\/p>\n

In the matter of TB, more than 55% of cases are among
\nforeign born.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Phillips also said that leprosy is a substantial issue
\nin the Marshall Islands.  <\/span>Phillips stated
\nflippantly that both diseases are treated with antibiotics, but did not report
\nthe outcomes. <\/p>\n

KFSM\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s story said they based their report on statements by
\nlocal physicians.  <\/span>Note the word plural
\nregarding physicians.  <\/span>Two stories appeared
\n2\/9\/8 in the Fort Smith Times Record & the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reporting
\nonly the corporate\/political point of view. 
\n<\/span>None from the medical community.  <\/span>If a serious investigation were intended, the
\nstate and border states\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 pharmacists would be consulted also. <\/p>\n

Very serious questions arise from this gloss over.  <\/span>A brief definition of Fascism: Fascism is a
\nnexus between corporations and governments, producing a symbiotic relationship.<\/p>\n

Note that Dr. James R. Phillips responded the day after the
\nstory broke that it was a hoax and there was not an approaching epidemic of TB
\nand leprosy. A protection racket reaction?  <\/span>Chiming in at the same time were such renowned
\nauthorities in Infectious Diseases as Perry Webb, Springdale\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Chamber
\nPresident, accompanied by Senator Bill Pritchard and his authoritative
\nstatement, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153everybody needs to take a deep breath and calm down.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u0153There has
\nbeen no outbreak.  <\/span>I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know who put
\nthat information out there, but there is absolutely no evidence of an outbreak
\nor epidemic\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n

This is indeed assuring since it comes from a career N.W.
\nArkansas politician.  <\/span>Pritchard says who
\nput the information out there?  <\/span>He should
\nbe aware of the big picture before he runs his mouth.  <\/span>Springdale physicians made the assertion, as
\nstated above.<\/p>\n

Then comes Dr. Phillips, career bureaucrat, who the day
\nafter the story broke said the false report \u00e2\u20ac\u0153just makes people panic\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.   <\/span>My question to Dr. Phillips; without
\nconsulting with the Springdale medical community, how do you know the report is
\nfalse?<\/p>\n

The crucial thing to remember is both the TB and leprosy bacillus
\nare airborne and spread through the inhalation of infected particles from an
\ninfected individual who is coughing. 
\n<\/span>Think a line of Tyson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s poultry employees for example.<\/p>\n

There are 6-8,000 Marshalleses living in Springdale, the
\nlargest population outside the Islands. 
\n<\/span>Who do you suppose these folks work for? 
\n<\/span>Let me give a clue, one of the largest crime families in the U.S., the
\nTyson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and by all means, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t forget the tens of thousands illegal Mexican
\naliens who live in the crime infested cities of Fayetteville, Springdale,
\nBentonville, and Rogers.  <\/span>Home to the
\nWalton\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, the Tyson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, the Hunt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, the George\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, ad infinitum.   <\/span>And Rogers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 resident Congressman John
\nBoozman. <\/p>\n

Not one of these individuals, organizations, or politicians
\nhas spoken to the involved medical community residing in NW Arkansas, yet in
\nless than 24 hours, politicians, bureaucrats, and corporations killed the story,
\nand are calling certain Springdale physicians liars.  <\/span>This is the most significant story regarding Arkansas
\nhealth care that has broken in our state re: the legal immigrant and the
\nillegal Mexican and OTM invasion, which dramatically demonstrates the introduction
\nand reintroduction of diseases which never existed here or were eradicated
\ndecades ago.<\/p>\n

You are now privy to a vivid, cruel example of Fascism. <\/p>\n

It also must be noted that Gov. Mike Beebe, Cong. John
\nBoozman, and the CDC have been informed of this event.<\/p>\n

Do you really believe we will hear anything other than
\npolitical cover-up from these corporate and political shills?<\/p>\n
