Based in the United States,
\nUnivision is not based on English. The candidates were spoken at<\/em> in
\nSpanish, which is why Rep. Tancredo declined to participate. One of the
\nmoderators was a Mexican citizen and a strident advocate for Hispanics. The
\npolitics of special interests was yet another reason to turn-down the
\ninvitation; Tancredo declined to dignify a debate in which one of the topics
\nwas whether English ought to be America\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s official language.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Rep. Tancredo made the right choice.
\nFaces furrowed in an effort to comprehend the language, the seven dwarfs looked
\ndecidedly un-presidential during the Univision debate.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Mainstream media were agreed that
\nfor the occasion, says<\/span><\/a> VDARE.com\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Allan
\nWall, all the presidential panderers “toned down, tempered, cooled, [and
\nonly] gingerly defended” their professed positions. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Especially conspicuous in his sappy
\nsentimentality, syrupy sweet talk\u00e2\u20ac\u201din education he was going to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153unleash weapons
\nof mass instruction\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00e2\u20ac\u201dand statist solutions, was Mike Huckabee. I can see why
\nmedia, women especially, love Big Daddy; whether he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sermonizing about diet or
\nthe deity, Huckabee is the Oprah of the Evangelicals.  <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Huckabee\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s

Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s unpack Huckabee\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s hucksterism:
\nIllegal aliens in the US are hanging their heads when they ought to be holding
\nthem high. The reason for these imaginary drooping crests is illegality brought
\non by harsh immigration policies. The way to raise heads high is to make
\nillegality a thing of the past. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During the nationwide illegal-alien
\nrallies, heads were held hubristically high. Since Huckabee, it would seem,
\nmissed those halcyon days, he would like to ensure illegals are hallmark happy
\nby removing the reason for the slumping noggins. Translated from Huckabese,
\nthat means aiming to overturn, or leave unenforced, existing immigration laws,
\nand thus disrespecting the rights of Americans and the country\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s social and
\neconomic fabric.   <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

What Huckabee fails to get into his<\/em>
\nhead is that illegal infiltrators are demanding what they most certainly are
\nnot entitled to. All men are imbued with natural<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u201dbut not necessarily political<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u201drights.
\nThe laws of this country ought to respect the natural rights of all people,
\nlegal and illegal. Not so their demands for political and welfare privileges,
\nwhich is what Huckabee would like to continue honoring.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Illegal aliens on the march for
\nundeserved political rights\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthat was not the only specter to have passed
\nHuckabee by. As any on the liberal left, the Governor is also ignorant of how
\npedagogic pop psychology has helped lighten the cerebral load in the craniums
\nof American schoolchildren.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Huckabee\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s antidote for the bumper
\ncrops of ignoramuses being produced in public schools follows the progressive
\nPleasure Principle: Please the little darlings; pleasure them, Huck prated at
\nthe Republican Presidential Debate in Iowa<\/span><\/a>,
\nfor they are \u00e2\u20ac\u0153bored to death.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d We must \u00e2\u20ac\u0153make sure we build the curriculum
\naround their interests<\/em>.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d [Emphasis added.]<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Hackneyed Huckabee is unaware that
\nchild-centered schooling has been in place for decades. Progressive pedagogues
\nand parents have been gratifying children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s demands for fun and frivolity for a
\nvery long time now.  <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Governor should also rest
\nassured: It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been quite some time since America\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s youth were burdened by a
\ncore curriculum or exposed to a literary canon. Content-based, top-down
\neducation has long since been supplanted by pop-culture-friendly,
\nnon-hierarchically delivered flimflam. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Huckabee\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153idea\u00e2\u20ac\u009d that learning
\nought to flow from the child is vintage romantic nineteenth-century
\nprogressivism. In their dedicated efforts to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153romance the child,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d
\nprogressives\u00e2\u20ac\u201dalso Hillary\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s preferred handle\u00e2\u20ac\u201dhave always insisted that learning
\nmust be made natural, organic. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\neducator E. D. Hirsch Jr<\/span><\/a>. has
\nillustrated, see effective, analytical and explicit instruction as very
