LITTLE ROCK \u00e2\u20ac\u201d Mike Huckabee\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s
\nimmigration plan would make it easier for highly educated and highly skilled
\nforeigners to get visas and harder for illegal aliens to get jobs.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

The Republican presidential
\ncandidate\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Secure America Plan,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d announced Thursday, is modeled after a
\nproposal by Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration
\nStudies, a Washington group that advocates tougher immigration laws.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Huckabee\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Web site,
\nmikehuckabee.com, calls it \u00e2\u20ac\u0153a broad-based strategy that commits the resources
\nof the federal government to the enforcement of our immigration laws and
\nresults in the attrition of the illegal immigrant population.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

His plan calls for \u00e2\u20ac\u0153a universal, mandatory citizenship verification
\nsystem as part of the normal hiring process.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d It would impose \u00e2\u20ac\u0153steep fines and
\npenalties\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on those who hire illegal aliens. (See
\nexisting<\/span> <\/font><\/span>Federal Law<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

\nindustries, as well as government programs such as Arkids 1st<\/sup> ,
\nPrenatal care, and tried to give illegals in-state tuition &
\nscholarships.  <\/span>All of which is subsidized
\nby taxpayers, including education and scores of benefits. This is his biggest

Other elements of the plan:<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Complete a fence and
\nsurveillance-camera system along the Mexican border by July 2010.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Increase the number of border-patrol
\nunits.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Train local police in immigration
\nlaws.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Give illegal aliens 120 days to
\nregister with the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services and leave the
\ncountry. Those who do not do so would be barred from re-entering the country
