\nFOR FREEDOM.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d      <\/span>FROM WHAT?<\/span>
<\/p>\n

<\/o:p>Being the host of a radio talk show is a lot of fun.  <\/span>I get all kinds of compliments.  <\/span>Especially from those who disagree with me.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

According to those on the political left, I am the worst kind
\nof human being there is.  <\/span>In their
\nparlance I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m a right-wing, Christian conservative neanderthaloid. And worse
\nthan that, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m one of those \u00e2\u20ac\u0153anti-government types\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.  <\/span>Well, three out of four ain\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t bad.  <\/span>(My knuckles won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t quite reach to the
\nground.)<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

Am I a right-winger? 
\n<\/span>Yes, as long as there are left-wingers. Am I Christian conservative?
\nGuilty.  <\/span>Am I anti-government?  <\/span>Proudly! 
\n<\/span>Let me explain.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

Government, in the mind of any right thinking person is
\nevil.  <\/span>It is in some cases a necessary
\nevil but still evil.  <\/span>Government by
\ndefinition exists for the sole reason of control over the individual.  <\/span><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

How many times have you read or heard the phrase \u00e2\u20ac\u0153man\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s
\nstruggle for freedom\u00e2\u20ac\u009d?  <\/span>Most history
\nbooks will advance this quest as being the driving force behind man\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s entire
\nstory.  <\/span>Today, thanks to our
\npro-government cultists, that struggle continues.  <\/span>As an example of this, look to the current
\ninvasion of our own country by law breaking elements of other countries.  <\/span>When the question is asked, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153why do these
\npeople risk their lives and willingly break the law to do this?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d the answer is
\nalways the same.  <\/span>They want freedom.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

If man\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s history, then, is a constant struggle for freedom,
\nthe obvious question is; freedom from what? 
\n<\/span>The answer is, of course, government. 
\n<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

Being \u00e2\u20ac\u0153anti-government\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is man\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s story.  <\/span>Freedom of speech?  <\/span>You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve got that unless some government limits
\nit.  <\/span>Freedom of religion?  <\/span>You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve got that unless some government limits
\nit.  <\/span>Right to privacy?  <\/span>You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve got that unless some government limits
\nit. Freedom to think?  <\/span>You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve got that
\nunless some government limits it.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

If all of this sounds kind of familiar, it should.  <\/span>The Constitution of the United States<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>,
\nthe greatest document ever conceived by man, was written for one reason.  <\/span>And that reason was to recognize government
\nfor the evil it is and limit it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s evil-doing. 
\n<\/span>That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s right.  <\/span>Our Constitution
\nis anti-government!<\/i><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

H. L Mencken, to many a cynic but to me a philosopher, once
\nsaid: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The ideal government of all reflective men, from Aristotle onward, is one
\nwhich lets the individual alone – one which barely escapes being no government
\nat all.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

Now, I recognize that people are not perfect; and if left to
\ntheir own devices people will inevitably seek power over others.  <\/span>We need some form of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153governance\u00e2\u20ac\u009d to protect
\nus from one another.  <\/span>But government is
\nmade up of people; people with the same imperfections.  <\/span>And therein lies the quandary.  <\/span>If there is anything worse that a conniving,
\nself-serving, power seeking individual, it is a conniving, self-serving, power
\nseeking gang.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

Government consists of people just like you and me.  <\/span>They have no special talent for the business
\nof governing.  <\/span>They are nothing more than
\na gang.  <\/span>They are, therefore, capable of
\nnothing but group-think and by extension are the enemy of the individual.  <\/span>Like any gang they like to stick together, to
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u0153belong\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and to stay a member. The only thing they are real good at is getting
\noffice and then holding office.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

A professional \u00e2\u20ac\u0153governor\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is, in my opinion, a discreditable
\nperson; a person who will do or say anything to stay a member of the gang and
\nis so willing to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153sell\u00e2\u20ac\u009d his loyalties that he becomes no better than a common
\nstreet hustler.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

The tendency then is for government to grow progressively
\nmore collective.  <\/span>To them we are a rival
\ngang.  <\/span>And to remind them of their
\nconstitutional limits is to trespass onto their turf.  <\/span>Government always ends up being an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153us
\nagainst them\u00e2\u20ac\u009d collective and exists despite the individual instead of for the
\nindividual.  <\/span>It inevitably then grows
\nworse and exists for its own satisfaction and against the ambitions of those
\nwho pay for it.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

H. L. Mencken made another statement about the individual
\nverses the collectivists:  <\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The notion
\nthat a radical is one who hates his country is na\u00c3\u00afve and usually idiotic.  <\/span>He is, more likely, one who likes his country
\nmore than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when
\nhe sees it debauched.  <\/span>He is not a bad
\ncitizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

Do I love my country? 
\n<\/span>No.  <\/span>Do I believe in \u00e2\u20ac\u0153my country,
\nright or wrong\u00e2\u20ac\u009d?  <\/span>God forbid.  <\/span>Am I a patriot?  <\/span>Yes. 
\n<\/span>To me a patriot or one who is patriotic is a person who believes not in
\njust his country, but what his country stands<\/i>
\nfor.  <\/span>And my country stands for
\nindividual freedom.  <\/span>Or at least it was
\ncreated for that reason\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6..back when we were free.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

Yes, I am proudly anti-government.  <\/span>Yes, I hold the Constitution to be
\nsacred.  <\/span>You may call me a radical.  <\/span>You may call me an extremist.  <\/span>You may call me a zealot.  <\/span>You may call me dangerous to today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s
\npolitical correctness. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s up to you. 
\n<\/span>But I insist that you call me anti-government.<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n
