\nmost of you know, when the nasty name calling begins in this debate you know
\nyou are on target.  Facts mean nothing to the open borders crowd\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6name
\ncalling is their only weapon. The ACLU, SPLC, ADL, etc. will be putting on
\ntheir usual smear campaign and the P.C. crowd will fall for it\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6however,
\ncitizens who still believe in the rule of law & the Constitution will not
\nbe fooled.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

WASHINGTON
\n— Arkansas’ U.S. senators are the targets of a blistering radio advertising campaign
\nthat started Monday and is funded by an illegal immigration foe from Fort
\nSmith.<\/p>\n

Joe McCutchen, whose stiff anti-immigration stance put him on a civil rights
\ngroup’s watch list, paid for the weeklong ad blitz urging Sens. Blanche Lincoln
\nand Mark Pryor, D-Ark., to take stronger stances on illegal immigration.<\/p>\n

McCutchen said Monday he paid for airtime on stations that cover the western
\nhalf of the state. Each 30-second spot directs listeners to call the senators’
\noffices and plugs McCutchen’s Web site.<\/p>\n

Spokesmen for Lincoln and Pryor said their offices had not received any calls
\nin reference to the campaign as of late Monday.<\/p>\n

Pryor spokesman Michael Teague accused McCutchen of telling a “half
\ntruth” in one advertisement, which states that both senators opposed
\nfunding construction of a 700-mile fence along the U.S.-Mexican border.<\/p>\n

Teague said Pryor cast some “no” votes during debate on a funding
\nmechanism, but eventually supported an appropriations bill to fund the fence.
\nLincoln also supported the bill, her spokeswoman said.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

“Anybody
\nthat has money can get a Web site and have airtime,” Teague said.<\/p>\n

No immigration legislation is pending in Congress, but McCutchen said he
\nthought immigration reform bills — which could include granting amnesty to many
\nillegal immigrants — might come up at any time.<\/p>\n

“I have thought they would backdoor this thing over a weekend,” he
\nsaid. “There was no good time to launch this campaign.”<\/p>\n

McCutchen and his wife, Barbara, have helped guard the border as part of the Minuteman
\nProject. He was a minuteman three times, but left the group because he said it
\nhad been taken over by Washington-based neoconservatives.<\/p>\n

His ads demand Lincoln and Pryor oppose amnesty and government benefits to
\nillegal immigrants.<\/p>\n

He said the two lawmakers have sold out their constituents in favor of
\n“open-borders, cheap labor, corporate America.”<\/p>\n

The senators last year voted to create a guest worker program that would allow
\nillegal immigrants to apply for legal status. That clashed with a House bill
\nthat did not contain guest worker provisions, and Congress adjourned last year
\nwithout adopting any comprehensive immigration reform measures.<\/p>\n

McCutchen said the immigration problem is destroying the nation, particularly
\nits middle class.<\/p>\n

Last spring, McCutchen was flagged by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a
\n“nativist,” or one who thinks immigrants cannot be Americans. A
\nspokeswoman for that group characterized his views as racist and anti-Semitic
\nand said he was allied with hate organizations.<\/p>\n

McCutchen on Monday said he is not affiliated with any group and he is funding
\nhis campaign alone.<\/p>\n

“If defending the Constitution and the rule of law is supported by I don’t
\ncare who, then I’m on the right path,” he said.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
