For
\nyears, we’ve been hearing the rumblings that radical activists in Mexico were
\nplanning a “Reconquista” or reconquering of the American Southwest. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Judging
\nby the events of the past few months, it seems clear that they’ve already
\nsucceeded. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This
\nweek, the U.S. Senate decided to reward those who break our laws and enter our
\nnation illegally by granting them legal citizenship here. It’s called amnesty,
\nand it’s a concept that has found growing support among conservative
\npoliticians who had once promised us that they would fight against any amnesty
\nproposal. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Forget
\nthe Democrats \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they have been hopeless on this issue. Now, Republicans are
\nbreaking a promise to those who elected them because of the political pressures
\nthey face \u00e2\u20ac\u201c not from their conservative base, but from the pro-illegal
\nimmigration lobby that is strongly backed by the Mexican government. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This
\nis mind boggling given recent polls which show Republican voters are furious
\nabout the way the immigration issue is being handled by GOP leaders. A brand
\nnew poll taken by Datamar Inc., a non-partisan and highly respected polling
\nfirm, showed that 62.6 percent of Republicans in the Golden State said they
\nfelt that immigration was, “The Most Important Problem Facing California
\nToday.” <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Here’s
\na clue for the Republican leadership: Those 62 percent of California Republicans
\naren’t worked up about the immigration issue because they think illegal aliens
\ndeserve amnesty and drivers’ licenses. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Rank-and-file
\nRepublicans are furious because they see the unchecked flow of illegal
\nimmigrants into this country being rewarded by our elected officials with
\nbillions of dollars in taxpayer benefits for those who are in this country
\nillegally. That’s $68 billion each and every year in benefits to illegal
\naliens. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Surely
\nthat fact alone should provide politicians the “cover” they need to
\nstick to their principles, even in the face of accusations of being
\n“racists” and “mean-spirited” that would inevitably be
\nlobbed at them from the liberal news media. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

But
\nRepublican leaders aren’t afraid of the wrath from Republican voters. Instead,
\nour own senators have become conquered by the Third World nation to our south. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Reconquista:
\nA long time coming<\/span><\/b>
\n<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

I
\nwould focus my outrage primarily on the Mexican government, and be more
\nunderstanding toward American officials, if this Reconquista movement had
\nsprung up out of nowhere and taken us by surprise. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

But
\nthat’s not the case \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the effort to change our nation and make our policy
\ncompliant with Mexico’s demands has been in the making for decades. Forget the
\nMexican-American War. Forget the Gadsen purchase. The land that comprises the
\nAmerican Southwest is land that the La Raza movement believes should belong to
\nthe people of Mexico. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In
\n1997, it was politically acceptable for Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo to
\nannounce \u00e2\u20ac\u201c while on U.S. soil no less \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the following: <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

I
\nhave proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory
\nenclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important \u00e2\u20ac\u201c a very
\nimportant \u00e2\u20ac\u201c part of this.<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Surrendering
\nto the demands of Reconquista<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nillegals who sneaked across our borders are now today taking to our streets en
\nmasse to tell U.S. government officials that we must comply with the demands of
\nthe Reconquista, or else they will threaten us with anarchy. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In
\nOceanside, Calif., the uprising by pro-illegal immigrant activists was so
\npotent that school officials took down all U.S. flags and banned anyone from
\ndisplaying Old Glory. Do you get it yet? They banned the American flag to
\nappease those who are calling the shots \u00e2\u20ac\u201c those who have reconquered our land. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

If
\nthe United States will not provide full-blown amnesty and taxpayer-funded
\nsocial welfare benefits to illegal aliens, then these illegal immigrants have
\nvowed to continue to go on strike; close down our schools; block our highways;
\nprevent the display of our nation’s flag; whatever they can do to bring this
\nnation to a halt. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This
\nis how they show their love for their new homeland. No wonder the nation from
\nwhich they came is in such shambles. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Yet
\nour leaders are impotent to the challenge. Strike that \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they are complicit in
\nthe problem. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Last
\nweek, we all heard the allegations that the
\nU.S. Border Patrol was quietly collaborating with the Mexican government,
\nsupplying them with information on the location of Minutemen civilian patrols. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This
\nweek, the Mexican government announced that they would sue the United States if
\nNational Guardsmen tried to stop the influx of illegal aliens from Mexico into
\nthe United States. <\/span><\/strong><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Instead
\nof the United States patrolling the border to protect our<\/i> nation, there
\nare reports that Mexico is sending in a larger contingent of Grupo Beta, an
\nelite Mexican police force that ensures the safe passage of illegal aliens from
\nMexico into the United States. <\/span><\/strong><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

If
\nonly our nation was as determined to secure our border, as the Mexican
\ngovernment was to ensure it remained porous. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Who is
\nfighting for America’s future?<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

While
\nRepublican leaders are busy betraying their base, they risk not only political
\nsuicide, but are jeopardizing the future of our nation<\/span>.<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

How
\ncan we watch the waves of riots in France (the world’s official home of
\nappeasement) and not recognize the dangers from taking in a flood of unskilled
\nimmigrants without assimilation? <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nrallies in this country run the risk of becoming similar to the riots in France
\nif more illegal immigrants stream into this country. The La Raza movement will
\nfeel more emboldened to up their demands from political leaders, and whenever
\nthey are not met, they will exact their revenge against America’s institutions.
\n<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Someone
\nmust step forward and lead a political movement that counters the capitulation
\nto the pro-illegal alien movement. If Congressman Tom Tancredo does not run for
\npresident in 2008, then someone with his commitment to the issue must run in
\nhis place. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Whenever
\ncandidates of any political party vote to support amnesty \u00e2\u20ac\u201c as a number of
\nRepublicans and Democrats did earlier this week \u00e2\u20ac\u201c then they must face political
\nrepercussions and be voted out of office. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

If
\nwe don’t take action now, then we will slowly become more and more like the
\nThird World nation to our south where so many of these illegal immigrants are
\ncoming from. <\/span><\/strong><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It’s
\ntime to fight back.<\/span> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
