Mike Huckabee for President

Newsroom

News Release:
Arkansas Businessmen Release Statement Supporting Former Governor and
Presidential Candidate, Mike Huckabee

January 16, 2008

Columbia,
SC – Today, the following businessmen from Arkansas released a statement in
support of former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee: Scott T. Ford, President
and CEO, Alltel Corporation; Warren A. Stephens, President and CEO, Stephens
Inc.; Madison Murphy, Former Chairman, Murphy Oil Corporation; John Tyson,
Chairman of the Board, Tyson Foods, Inc; and French Hill, Chairman and CEO,
Delta Trust and Banking Corporation:

“We are a traditionally bi-partisan group of executives of several of the
largest corporations headquartered in the State of Arkansas, each with
considerable exposure to the Administration of Governor Mike Huckabee. Of late,
Governor Huckabee has attracted what we believe to be unwarranted criticism
regarding his business record.”

“Our experience with Governor Huckabee indicates that he not only values
greatly the freedoms of religion and liberty, but of the free market as well.
He is an atypical leader who garnered the respect of not only the professional
business community but of the working men and women across our State as
well.”

“When he became our Governor, he inherited our long sub-standard education
system, infrastructure, and regulatory climate. Under his leadership, we were
able to grow our businesses, increase our employment, reduce our litigation
exposure and enjoy, along with all of our fellow Arkansans, a healthier
economy, improved schools, updated highways, and new healthcare delivery
facilities.”

“In our support of Governor Huckabee’s truly conservative, small
government business outlook and his pragmatic, yet compassionate style of
governing, we invite you to look past the shallow rhetoric of yet another
campaign season to see what we have experienced first hand – that with the
right political leadership in place, businesses and citizens can jointly
prosper and as they do, they contribute so much more to the economic and
societal fabric of a community than simply tax revenues.”

NEA largest anti-home

You Question?

Does not appear to have
Theology degree as he claimed before CBN and CNN

He raised taxes 47% for
roads, schools, children’s healthcare (Tax and Spend record)    He advocated AR as a sanctuary state and
protected Tyson, Wal-Mart during ICE raids

CFR President Richard Haas is his ‘foreign policy
advisor.’  CFR policy replaces our
Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Huckabee responded: “Well, I have a number of people from whom
I get policy.  He is listed on the CFR
webpage indicating he has CFR approval.
His speech to Center for Strategic and Intl Studies mirrors Bush
Policies.

He was keynote speaker
and  promoted ‘open door’ policy at LULAC
convention June, 2005 stating  ‘Arkansas
needs to make the transition from a traditional Southern state to one that
recognizes and cherishes diversity “in culture, in language and in population”….’and
make sure our economy has the necessary work force.”   LULAC thanked Huckabee for ‘standing with
them’

His career has14 ethics
complaints: one failure to declare all income; and questions of his integrity
from management of campaign cash of a non-profit organization to subsidize his
income;  destruction of his Governor
state computer files.   He never
cooperated with Ethics Commission but did attempt to shut down all
investigations into his violation.

Recommended more than 1,000
prison pardons and commutations  – most
infamous Wayne DuMond raped/killed a Missouri woman after Huckabee supported
his release.

Arkansas knows him as a thin
skinned liberal, a high-tax, protectionist, big-government advocate of a strong
hand who never ordered State police to stop illegal aliens.

He defied the U.S. and AR
Constitution and pushed with Mexico for a $1.2 million Consulate Little Rock
office resulting in criminal organizations like Acambaro Restaurant Chain to
operate in AR with money laundering

He told AR Legislators ‘that
to deny Illegals benefits would be un-christian, un-American, irresponsible and
anti-life.  He denounced all bills
attempting to stop illegals from voting and getting benefits as “It would rile
up those who are racist and bigots.”   He
said ‘large companies would not come to AR if ALL citizens were not allowed to
vote.’   He advocated (2005) the tuition
benefits, pell grants and scholarships, prenatal care, welfare for illegals by
taxpayers and deceitfully lobbied for amnesty bill.

Campaigning he views the
pathway to legality as taking ‘days’ not years.   They go home, then come back to join the
workforce (like McCain-Kennedy bill)He believes illegals should earn
citizenship
– not deportations.

Arkansas
Taxes Up $642 Million Under Huckabee, Report Shows

In November, Huckabee repeatedly defended his record, calling himself a
“fiscal conservative” and pointing out that he had cut taxes 90 times
as governor.
But according to data compiled for Cybercast News Service by Stephen Slivinski,
director of budget studies at the libertarian Cato Institute, the tax hikes
Huckabee supported between 1997 and 2007 were far heftier than his tax cuts.
(Slivinski compiled his report from tax records available at the bi-partisan
National Conference of State Legislatures.)

The numbers show that taxes increased at an average of $15 per person per
fiscal year during Huckabee’s tenure (1996-2007). The net tax cuts supported by
Huckabee from fiscal years 1997 to 2007 totaled $222 million, while net tax
increases supported or unopposed by Huckabee totaled $864 million.

The net increase in taxes supported by Huckabee, therefore, equaled $642
million. With a population slightly declining – from 2.7 million in 1997 to 2.5
million in 2007 – net taxes collected in Arkansas rose by more than $3 billion
during Huckabee’s gubernatorial tenure.

.NOTE:   A Liberal Politician translates that a
Christian  heart for the poor should
mandate massive wealth redistribution, as if state-coerced transfers of other
people’s money are acts of Christian compassion.   There is nothing compassionate about sapping
the human spirit to the detriment of all.
His ‘compassion’ for the poor defines government programs as the
solution to poverty rather than charitable organizations, churches, and free
markets to help those in need.
His webpage spouts different views NOW!

Rebutal to Editor Greenberg re Ron Paul & other candidates

Greenberg—1/11/08, “Why so sour Sir?” describing
Congressman Ron Paul’s demeanor as “sadness? Anger? Acid reflux?

Editor Greenberg,  all three. The cause? Appearing with the likes
of Huckabee, Thompson, Romney, Giuliani, warmongers all, no understanding of
our failed monetary and foreign policies, remaining in the Middle East for
decades, bankrupting the republic and borrowing money from China to bail us
out.

The four refuse to deal with the Federal Reserve–private
not federal, printing money out of thin air.
The four do not abide by Constitutional war making authority and condone
preemptive strikes against no-threat sovereign nations.

Huckabee violated Article I, Section 10, creating a
Mexican Consulate, serving as an illegal employment distribution center for the
likes of Tyson’s, OK Foods, Simmon’s, et al.
In the first presidential debate Huckabee exclaims we must seal the
borders, later he introduces a 9 point plan to deal with the illegal Mexican invasion.  The plan allows illegals to go back to Mexico,
turn around and reenter the U.S. legally.
Translation “touchback” and amnesty. See arkansasfreedom.net .

Huckabee hired Richard Haas, president of the CFR, John
Bolton CFR, and neoconservative Frank Gaffney, all globalists, as advisors.

Congressman Paul favors cutting off ALL foreign aid,
including the Middle East and the return of all foreign based American troops.  He favors the dissolution of the Dept. of Education,
IRS and no reinstitution of the draft.

Greenberg, securing borders is not isolationist nor xenophobic.
Dr. Ron Paul is the only Constitutional
candidate.

Articles revealing Huckabee’s Liberal Nature

 Grassroots
Movement is the Conservative Hope – Not the Presidential Election

List of
articles Revealing Mike Huckabee’s Liberal Nature

Like
most of you I have become totally frustrated and agitated as I have watched the
presidential debates and campaign.    I have been alarmed with
both the increased deceitfulness of the candidates and the naiveté of the
electorate.  The honest, real conservative candidates can never make it
into the top tier because the dishonest ones, with the backing of the media,
can convince the public they walk their talk – which is nothing but lies.

As
we in Arkansas, who know Mike Huckabee so well, watch him deceive the
evangelicals and conservatives  with one false assertion after another
about his convictions and policy, it makes many of us even more cynical because
we  wonder if all the other candidates are just as dishonest as he. It
appears that the candidates who are best at bewitching the public will be the
winners. (See list of articles below for the basis of this assertion about
Huckabee)

Tonight
I am wondering if Huckabee and Hillary get the nomination, just which one can
deceive the most voters.  I wouldn’t give Huckabee a chance other than the
fact that he equals the Clintons in that ability to deceive.  It is truly
an alarming experience just to watch him at work and see him using his religion
and the Southern Baptist organization as a basis for his deception.
Numerous people will be disillusioned and turned off religion by these
tactics.

I
have concluded there is not one of the top four Republican candidates that
would not shift the Party to the left, leaving the conservatives with no party
to support.  Even worse, each candidate would bring more disillusionment
both to the public and Republicans, as their true colors are revealed in
office.

But
then I was encouraged as I thought about the hope that we conservatives still
have that somewhat transcends the parties and the political corruption.
    I remember
what happened with the illegal alien amnesty bill and how the grassroots fought
back and WON.  Every Republican candidate soft on illegal aliens
ran from their former stands and became blatantly dishonest in trying to
convince the public that they were always tough on illegals and wanted no part
of amnesty.

This
is our hope – grassroots effort.
We can do it again and again and again.
The computer has helped us tremendously in this effort.  We can now be
alerted hourly by grassroots organizations (which are already operating full
force).  No Party or President can stop us if we will just continue to act
as we did on that issue.

Last
year I came to the conclusion that in Arkansas conservatives would never
succeed on the issues through elections, but we could win through ballot
initiatives.   In my frustration with the national election I had forgotten
that lesson and about the power of the grassroots.  Initiatives and
grassroots efforts on issues transcends politics to a great degree and are far
less susceptible to lies because people are in touch  with the reality of
how those issues are affecting their lives.

So
even though I will still spend some of my time and energy working in the
political election arena, I will spend a greater amount of my time on issues
and grassroots efforts.

Following
are links to articles that I have written in the past and articles by other
people that reveal why I am so disappointed in Huckabee and why I believe he is
no conservative. Those written by me will have a www.wpaag.org
address.  Huckabee’s win as governor was one of the most exciting events
of my life, but the way he has governed has been one of the greatest
disappointments and surprises of my life.  He corresponded with me on
educational issues before he became governor; I was on his education transition
team when he became Governor; and I even went to the Governor’s office and
worked with a member of his staff on educational issues a few times.  I
finally had to recognize that he had totally deceived me and other conservatives
and was pushing Hillary’s educational plans faster than Hillary could do so
herself – because he was a Republican. In fact, Arkansas has increased in
government control in education  more rapidly   in the last few
years than any state in the nation.

where Mike Huckabee leaks the part of his plan you won’t find on his
website, in his campaign material, or repeated on his lips. You won’t find
his Minuteman spokesman mentioning the contents of this video either.

Under the Huckabee plan, the illegals return within
days. They will not be giving up their jobs or leases. They will not be
packing their bags.

And when they return, they will be immune from
immigration enforcement and on the “path to citizenship” giving
America 15-20 million new voters who were previously illegal aliens.

What do you think your lives will be like when they
are turned into voters?

Huckabee retreats on birthright citizenship

By Stephen Dinan

The Washington Times
January 9, 2008

Mike Huckabee yesterday contradicted his own top immigration surrogate,
announcing he will not support a constitutional amendment to end
birthright citizenship for children born in the United States to
illegal aliens.

It was a stark reversal after The Washington Times reported that
James Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project, said Mr. Huckabee
promised to pursue an amendment to the Constitution. In an article in
yesterday’s editions, Mr. Huckabee’s spokeswoman did not challenge the
former Arkansas governor’s statements to Mr. Gilchrist and said the two
men shared the same goals on immigration.

But by yesterday afternoon, Mr. Huckabee had backed away from that position.

“I do not support an amendment to the Constitution that would
prevent children born in the U.S. to illegal aliens from automatically
becoming American citizens. I have no intention of supporting a
constitutional amendment to deny birthright citizenship,” Mr. Huckabee
said in a statement posted on his campaign Web site.

The Times reported that Mr. Gilchrist, in a half-hour conversation
while campaigning with Mr. Huckabee last week in Iowa, pinned down the
Republican presidential candidate on various immigration stances,
including how he would address what most legal scholars see as the 14th
Amendment’s guarantee of citizenship to any person born in the United
States, except for diplomatic situations.

Mr. Gilchrist said Mr. Huckabee promised to bring a test case to
the Supreme Court to challenge the matter, and also would press
Congress to pass an amendment to the Constitution.

In an interview with CNN, the candidate said his campaign was not
contacted about the story: “It was disappointing the reporter who filed
the report never bothered to contact our campaign,” he said.

But Mr. Huckabee’s spokeswoman, Kirsten Fedewa, did talk to The
Times for the article. She did not challenge any of Mr. Gilchrist’s
statements at the time, and was quoted as saying Mr. Huckabee and Mr.
Gilchrist were “united by a mutual desire to end illegal immigration
and are political allies toward that end.”

In a statement to The Times yesterday evening, Mr. Huckabee acknowledged his campaign was asked about the story.

“I was asked to respond to questions by The Washington Times about my
position regarding presidential pardons for imprisoned U.S. Border
Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean and about personal e-mail
correspondence by one of my supporters,” Mr. Huckabee said. “We
responded to those questions.

“If the Supreme Court chooses to review lower-court decisions
regarding the 14th Amendment, that is their prerogative, but my
priorities for constitutional amendments are to protect human life and
traditional marriage,” he said in the statement.

Mr. Huckabee also said on CNN that he hasn’t given much thought to
the issue of birthright citizenship. But he previously had taken a
position in an interview with The Times on his campaign bus in Iowa in
August.

“I would support changing that. I think there is reason to revisit
that, just because a person, through sheer chance of geography,
happened to be physically here at the point of birth, doesn’t
necessarily constitute citizenship,” he said at the time, according to
the audiotape of the interview. “I think that’s a very reasonable thing
to do, to revisit that.”

Mr. Gilchrist did not respond to repeated phone calls and e-mails
yesterday asking about the discrepancy, but in a 42-minute telephone
call Sunday he told The Times that Mr. Huckabee promised him these
things in their half-hour private conversation.

“I read back my notes to him twice and I told him I did not want to
put words in his mouth,” he said. “The guy looked me right in the eye.”

Mr. Gilchrist issued a press release from the Minuteman Project
laying out Mr. Huckabee’s positions. That release was provided to the
Huckabee campaign.

Yesterday, Mr. Gilchrist’s Web site, www.jimgilchrist.com href=”http://www.jimgilchrist.com,/”>,
still included a photo from his meeting with Mr. Huckabee in Iowa, and
still said Mr. Huckabee promised to pursue a Supreme Court decision and
a constitutional amendment.

Rep. Ron Paul, the libertarian-leaning Republican candidate, has
introduced a constitutional amendment to end birthright citizenship.

Huckabee & Gilchrist lie to America

National Deception: Mike Huckabee and Jim Gilchrist Lie To America

January 9, 2007

Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and Minuteman Co-Founder Jim
Gilchrist have been documented lying to America by the Washington Times
today after false headlines ran on Tuesday proclaiming Mike Huckabee
would try to remove birthright citizenship from the Constitution.

The article confirms that Huckabee lied on CNN about his campaign being
contacted about Gilchrist’s false statements and Gilchrist lied in a
release about Huckabee’s immigration stances.

Gilchrist put out a press release on Iowa’s election eve, under the
fake name of “Perry Emerson” that contained several false statements
and embellishments of Huckabee’s immigration stances. The release
claimed Huckabee would try to reverse birthright citizenship laws,
which are widely exploited by illegal aliens.

“We are doing our best to get the truth about these lies, and the
hidden amnesty component of the Huckabee immigration plan to the
public,” says William Gheen of ALIPAC. “So far, the majority of the
national media is not reporting these facts and voters wonder why they
are hearing the news from us instead of CNN and Fox. This is a grand
national deception in motion and it is absolutely blasphemous that
voters are being deceived on a massive scale.”

ALIPAC launched a campaign to warn voters about Huckabee’s statements
on Fox News on Dec. 9 2007, where Huckabee stated illegal aliens could
leave the US and return within days permanently and legally. This
information was only reported once on Fox and is not included in
Huckabee’s distributed immigration plan. The national media is not
telling voters that over 84 immigration enforcement organizations,
including multiple Minuteman groups, have rebuked Gilchrist’s
endorsement of Huckabee.

“When lies of this scale go unchecked by the media, it is no wonder
that our nation is in such great peril today,” said William Gheen. “The
Huckabee and Gilchrist immigration deception is a national disaster in
motion that will have far reaching negative ramifications for America.
Mike Huckabee and Jim Gilchrist are successfully deceiving American
voters and they must be stopped.”

Copies of Gilchrist’s fake name press release, the Washington Times
Articles, copies of the video of Huckabee’s “illegals back in days”
comments, and the letter signed by the vast majority of groups fighting
illegal immigration are available at www.alipac.us

All members of the media are asked to tell voters the truth before it is to late.

Better to give AND receive — UPDATE

Lord’s
Ranch
is a residential school for
troubled youths in Warm Springs. The website of a preacher
who works there
says church attendance and similar religious sessions are
“encouraged.”

Surely church worship is
not required, because the Lord’s Ranch operates on millions in public tax
money — $8.5 million this year alone from the Arkansas Medicaid program.
Courts have ruled that publicly financed programs cannot use public money to
conduct religious exercises.

The man who runs the Lord’s
Ranch, Ted Suhl, has become a major political player, perhaps because the
state looked dimly on his operation at times before the Huckabee administration
came along. Now  “faith-based” organizations are riding high
(and so is Huck, in Suhl’s twin-engine Cessna jet). Suhl gives
contributions freely to politicians in his name, the name of the Lord’s Ranch
and the name of at least four real estate development companies, one based in
Florida.

We’ve totted up at least $100,000 in
donations by Suhl and connections since 2000. That includes $5,000 to Gov.
Huckabee (not counting his free jet rides). It includes $26,000 to the
Republican Party of Arkansas. It includes $6,500 to the amendment to ban gay
marriage.

 But here’s the most
interesting thing, and it may explain why some legislators say they run into a
stone wall every time they try to demand accountability from the Lord’s Ranch.

The Lord’s Ranch is getting $8.5
million in public money from Arkansas this year. This year’s spending was
budgeted at the legislative session of 2005. That meant elections of 2004 were
important to those expecting to have a hand out in 2005.

In that year, Suhl entities gave at
least $37,500, split equally between Ds and Rs, to legislative candidates. More
individual gifts went to Democrats, but Republicans got bigger amounts on
average.

We shall see how tough legislators
are on the ranch at the hearing next Wednesday.

One note: The Republicans, big pals
of Suhl as you can see, have beem talking about how liberal the
Democratic ticket is. If anybody would know a trustworthy conservative, you’d
think Bro. Suhl would. He’s given money this year to Mike Beebe and Dustin
McDaniel (and a heap to loser Tim Wooldridge over the years.)

UPDATE: Go to the jump for a list of
all partisan contributions in 2004 and 2006 (Suhl made a couple of
contributions to Wendell Griffen, a nonpartisan judicial candidate). Most won,
not surprising since most contributions came after the elections. Where
contributions appear in excess of the $1,000 limit it’s because a
candidate got multiple contributions from different Suhl entities and/or they
had primary and runoff elections.
