Binoculars on city government “racetrack”

December 30, 2010                         RACECARD AT FORT SMITH DOWNS 2011

Fort Smith Downs proudly presents the River City Futurity sponsored by the Fort Smith Jockey Club.

The morning line declares the post time to be January 1, 2011.

The purse for win, place, & show are as follows:

a.      Win— will be known as the Deal-Maker of Fort Smith city government

b.      Place—5 private meetings with Richard Griffin Properties & sidekick Ken Pyle

c.      Show— a distinguished honorary chair on the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce (a cheap illegal labor & open borders asset) Board of Directors

In the racing form are the Jockeys (Mayor & Board of Directors) in the Futurity with some of their records:

1.      Sandy Sanders—Big Government Man on a fast track

2.      Phil Merry—aspiring insider on the rail

3.      Kevin Settle—in dead heat with 1 & 2

4.      Don Hutchings—no factor

5.      Andre Goode—faded

6.      Pam Weber—juvenile

7.      Steve Tyler—blinkers

8.      George Catsavis—stayer

The win, place, & show jocks will continue to exert any number of exercises which further introduces the Fort Smith race fans to more government takeover of the track as well as other self-aggrandizements. Some of the jocks have already smelled the allure of taxpayer monies, e.g. Quality of Place (Settle), New Market Tax Credits (Griffin), HUD (Griffin), New Urbanism (Coleman), Complete Streets, Metropolitan Planning Organization, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, ICLEI, Campus for Homeless, Smart Growth, Metro 1313, Agenda 21, and the beat goes on & on with the specific goal of “stack ‘em & pack’em” resulting in destruction of independence, individual freedoms, and creativity…all in the name of “Greening”.

When race fans see and hear the above terms (& many more of their cousins) they will know the Fix is In and which Jocks are either on Sustainable Meth or Sustainable Lasix, at which time they should be disqualified and barred from the track.

Race fans; be careful in your wagering (voting/confidence/trust). Post Time is near.

New age Urban Renewal (private land owners are subsidized by taxpayers), e.g Garrison Ave., the riverfront & perhaps Chaffee-Crossing, etc. etc.

Do the jocks we have nominated for the 2011 futurity have horse sense?  We shall soon see.

The Fix is in: the Convention Center Tax Ballot

The Fix is in—the Convention Center Tax ballot.                                  October 12, 2010

The Mayor and Board members are elected allegedly to carry out the wishes of the voters and the City Manager is hired to implement those wishes.

Is this being done?  Hardly.

The city government, shirking their responsibilities, turned the matter of raising money to resurrect the moribund Civic Auditorium to an Ad Hoc Committee, which allows the voters 3 choices: 2 new taxes and a broken promise.

1.      Levy a 1% tax on prepared food

2.      Levy a ½% tax on prepared food

3.      Reallocate 5% of the DEDICATED Street Tax revenue to the Convention Center. The fact that some Directors are willing to flagrantly violate their honor to reposition a Dedicated tax to some other venue shows they cannot be trusted.  If 5% can be removed from the Dedicated street tax this would certainly indicate that the 1% street tax is generating more revenue than the city needs for streets & sewers; therefore where is the excess revenue going now?

Now to the Convention Center ballot.  The Ad Hoc committee and City Directors conveniently left out an integral component of the ballot which is:  NONE OF THE ABOVE.   Another dishonest position.

Gentlemen, why are you consciously eliminating what appears to be a substantial segment of voters from the election process by refusing to allow them to articulate their views, i.e. NONE OF THE ABOVE.

The city has any number of privately owned, for profit venues that create private sector jobs, while paring down the size of city government and generates tax revenue which the Convention Center does not, and can more than adequately serve the needs of the city.  Obviously, the privately owned convention centers are not subsidized by the hard pressed city taxpayers.

Directors, with an honest ballot, the possibility of shutting down the failed Convention Center would not be a stain on your political legacies, actually it would be seen as a rational political move in favor of taxpayers.

Kindest regards,

Joe McCutchen

How to become a sanctuary destination city

September 11, 2010

Congratulations:  Fort Smith named one of the truly great Destination Cities in all America.

Credit goes to the Fort Smith city government, city police, Sheriff Atkinson, the FBI, Chamber of Commerce, OK Foods, Simmons, Tyson, the Catholic Church, the Times Record, Superintendent Gooden, Congressman John Boozman and lesser lights.  And oh yes, Beebe, Bush & Obama.

This blighted honor could not have been accomplished without the efforts or the lack of efforts from the aforementioned.

The Destination City reputation is only made possible by illegal Mexicans and OTM’s through the auspices of the aforementioned, and the illegals are the only ones who keep the “Destination City” title alive.

Times Record Reporter Jeff Arnold’s 9/16/10 article “Hispanic’s Businesses Booming” failed to address the consequences of the illegal Mexican and OTM invaders.  Arnold stated that there are 12,200 Hispanics residing in Fort Smith.

1.      He did not mention the source for his numbers

2.      He did not mention, in his estimation, what the actual numbers really are, particularly since the overwhelming majority is illegals who don’t want to be identified. He readily admits that Hispanics account for at least 15% of the total Fort Smith population and in all likelihood represents a greater percentage of that total, while their numbers are growing exponentially due to the failures of our policing agencies to uphold U.S. and state laws dealing with immigration and the reproductive habits of the unfettered illegal Hispanics.

3.      He did not mention their cost to taxpayers for healthcare

4.      He did not mention their cost in food and other related items and the issuance of plastic debit cards accepted by most stores.  He did not mention the horrific cost to taxpayers in crimes they are involved in, e.g.  Gangs MS-13, Los Zetas….who have a significant presence in our city and state.

5.      He did not mention the mind-boggling cost to taxpayers in K-12 public schools and its resulting negative effects on citizen students who are dumbed-down due to politically correct egalitarianism (everybody equal means everyone brought down to the lowest level), English As a 2nd Language classes, materials printed in Spanish, children’s lack of knowledge of even the most basic facts about our history, language, culture, rule of law.  Acculturation for all practical purposes is absent.  Never have these invaders embraced the ideals that made America preeminent, but the results of those ideals are the reason they commit crimes to get here, yet they are fiercely loyal to their homeland.

6.      He did not mention free pre-natal care (compliments of former Gov. Huckabee) to illegal women and the myriad of complementary services and the accompanying numbers of Anchor Babies potentially on welfare until 21 yrs of age and the ability of said Anchor Babies to bring their immediate families here from their mother countries.

This is merely a broad-brush description of the travesty of our failing multi-cultural gulag (our former Republic) and of our borders going up in smoke.  Our elected and appointed officials are traitors to our U.S. Constitution, and listening to their hollow, P.C. rhetoric day in and day out is nothing more than a caricature of America.

For starters, how about Congressman John “Travelin’ Man” Boozman seeking a U.S. Senate seat and in times of our multiple crises, the self-serving buffoon is talking Razorback football, Arkansas “values”, (what are they?), abortion, and says he will “balance the federal budget”. (Huh?) This is no endorsement of the Delta Duchess Lincoln, another traitorous buffoon.  There is not one substantive issue being debated regarding Constitutional demands and the attacks on our Constitution by either of these candidates.

Back to Arnold:  He writes about 3 Hispanics who are apparently running successful businesses—Sanchez, Cardenas, and Dominguez.  Can we conclude that these 3 gentlemen are American citizens?  If so they are to be congratulated for their successes. Arnold’s sampling of 3 success stories is not indicative of the educational or economic status of the thousands of Hispanics that presently reside in our area. Arnold’s sampling resembles the 70 person poll representing 83,000 Fort Smith citizens which indicated more homes should be built for the “homeless”.  If in fact these 3 are citizens, they have taken a sworn oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States, and are supposed to be law-abiding Americans. It is stated 80% of Sanchez’ business are Hispanic, the only conclusion that can be reached is that he is serving Illegals…this in itself is a violation of the oath he swore to uphold, if he in fact is a citizen.

Fort Smith has another national designation….it is a Sanctuary City.

Question: who might be fanning the flames for more illegal Mexican nesters in our state?  Look no further than the Arkansas Friendship Coalition. This coalition is not about friendship it is about amnesty, open-borders, exploitation of illegals and taxpaying citizens…the bottom line, bigger profits by any means.  When the reader understands who the king pins are in the Coalition you will readily comprehend their mission…not humanitarian but hard core dollars. Some members are:  The Tyson’s, the Walton’s, Warren Stephens (owner of the Times Record), the Catholic Church, ACLU, Lulac, and the beat goes on.

Reporting on the growing Hispanic population’s business successes without addressing any of the aforementioned multiple crises is symptomatic of a national crisis of gigantic proportions.

Is the new city motto for illegal Hispanics “Life is Worth Living in Fort Smith, because it is a Destination-Sanctuary City” for illegals?

Kindest regards,

Joe McCutchen

Subject: ALERT: Livable Communities Act (S.1619)

Dodd is a lame duck senator who is making a push for his global masters before he retires with his massive retirement package.

Sledgehammer ACTION ALERT

From Tom DeWeese, President
American Policy Center

“LIVABLE COMMUNITIES” is a SOCIALIST TRAP!

Senator Christopher Dodd has introduced a bill to enforce UN Agenda 21 policy on your community. It’s called the “Livable Communities Act” (S.1619). It will destroy your community. Here’s why:

S. 1619 ‘Livable Communities’ act is on a fast track to passage!

S.1619 is a blueprint for the transformation of our society into total federal control.

S.1619 will enforce federal Sustainable Development zoning and control of local communities.

S.1619 will create a massive new ?development? bureaucracy — (development Czar)

S.1619 will drive up the cost of energy to heat and cool your home.

S.1619 will drive up the cost of gasoline as a way to get you out of your car.

S.1619 will force you to spend thousands on your home in order to comply.

S.1619 is NOT Voluntary – it will set up $4 billion in grants (TAX MONEY WE DON’T HAVE) that will force your community to comply.

Here are the facts:

Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-CT) has authored a bill S.1619 titled the ‘Livable Communities Act.’ It is one of the most dangerous bills to ever threaten our liberty. Worse even than the Obamacare scheme.
S.1619 creates a new permanent federal office: The Office of Sustainable Housing and Communities” for the enforcement of this bill the “Development Czar” if you will.

Sen. Dodd is lying when he says S.1619 is purely voluntary. The $4 billion in grants will be used by radical green groups (who helped write it) to force your city council to comply.

If our city says no to the pressure to take the grant money the radical greens will tell your citizens that their city officials are losing them millions of dollars that is owed to the community. Then, when the council caves into the pressure and takes the money, it will force compliance. THAT IS NOT VOLUNTARY – IT IS BLACKMAIL.

Senator Dodd will tell you that the bill is simply about uniformity to control development to save energy and to preserve rural areas. That is not true. After 15 years of fighting Sustainable policy I can assure you it is about control. Sustainablist policy focuses on three things: land use, redistribution of wealth, and population control.

S.1619 sets up a system for federally mandated housing uniformity, forcing homeowners to put on new roofs and windows, new “energy efficient” appliances, etc.  (Which could cost each homeowner upwards of $35,000.00)

– S.1619 will establish top down control that turns our communities into little soviets, driven by non-elected boards, councils and regional governments.

– As it reduces the amount of land available for homes (smart growth) S.1619 will have to lead to the establishment of federally mandated family planning for population control.

– And of course: it will raise taxes.

The nation is on the verge of bankruptcy from massive federal spending. This is certainly not the time to create new bureaucracies and spending boondoggles even if Sustainable Development was an honest concern over environmental protection.

WHICH IT IS NOT!. Sustainable Development is a blue print for top-down control of our communities, using enforcement by non-elected boards, councils and regional government to transform our local control into a little soviet run by untouchable bureaucrats.

S.1619 is the first federal Sustainable Development law to enforce the UN?s Agenda 21. It must be stopped now ? or every single community in America will be forced to comply with UN policy.

S.1619 has already been passed out of the Senate Banking Committee and is headed for a floor vote.

Urgent you take action now to stop it!!!

Action to Take:

It will do no good to try to put pressure on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to stop this bill. I’m not even going to try. He is a major supporter of this forced socialism and will not listen to our demands.

1. Call Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and demand that he lead Senate Republicans in opposition to S.1619. Tell him this bill will destroy local community decisions and enforce massive federal control over our communities.

It is vital that Senate Republicans stand firm against S.1619. They must feel your heat! Call Senator McConnell early and often. His office # is: 202-224-3135. His fax # is: 202-224-2574.

Or write to him to demand that he take action to stop S.1619.  McConnell’s address is:

S-230 Capitol Building, Washington. DC 20510-7010.

2. Call Senator John Thune, chairman of the Republican Senate Policy Committee.

Thune’s committee sets Republican policy for all senators. He must feel our heat in opposition to S.1619!!!

Senator Thune’s Republican Policy Committee # is 202-224-2946. Fax # 202-224-1235. Email: mailbox@rpc.senate.gov.

Address: Senate Republican Policy Committee

SR-347 Russell Senate Office Building, Washington, DC 20510-7064.

3. Call your state?s two U.S. Senators and demand they vote against S.1619. Give them all the reasons stated above. Senate switchboard: (202) 224-3121. Ask for your Senators by name. It is vital to the liberty of America that S.1619 be stopped. It is the first bill to enforce Sustainable Development through federal legislation.

We can stop it if we call now and put pressure on Republicans to stand firmly against it.

We must flood Capitol Hill with calls and letters NOW. A vote can come up any time, and without our strong opposition S.1619 will breeze to passage.

Take the above action NOW!

Please pass this message on to your friends and neighbors and ask them to call too.

For more information on Sustainable Development and Agenda 21 go to the American Policy Center website: www.americanpolicy.org.

More forced redistribution waste

Griffin & Pyle strike again.                                  September 7, 2010

Stack ‘em & Pack ‘em.  Build it and they will come.  Folks, it’s all about FUNDING.  Just like Beran at UAFS, another “5-Year Plan” foisted on taxpayers…shades of the old Soviet. (Can you imagine what this bunch will do to us in 5 years left to their own devices?)

An article by Ben Boulden in today’s Times Record (9/7/10) is supposed to be taken seriously and absolutely no laughing.   Fort Smith, a city of some 83,000 residents,  is being victimized by a “poll” of 70 people.  These 70 respondents saw a “high need” for more housing support for the so-called homeless.  Question: how many of these 70 people who are desirous of increasing welfare and parasitism pay income or property taxes?

The Fort Smith Community Development Department (now that’s a mouthful) sponsored this ludicrous survey.  They claim to have 500 “clients” per month and the number is growing exponentially.  Calling these people “clients” is akin to Federal & State governments calling welfare recipients “customers”.

Ms. Gabriel, a functionary in this welfare program states “Low-income people need to have available more vouchers so as to make standard housing more affordable.”  Standard housing?

Now enter Ken Pyle, Richard Griffin’s enabler, with the statement of the day.  “With more funding the Housing Authority could accommodate the working poor, the disabled and more homeless.”  Build it and they will come.

You boys did not absorb the 97/3 rule, so here it is again.  3% of Americans cannot take care of themselves mentally or physically, therefore their every need should be tended to without question.  97% should be ignored and it will take them 2 weeks to achieve their desired standard of living….off the welfare teat.

Back to the Riverfront.

As often proclaimed…Fort Smith is awash in taxpayers’ money, e.g. $62,000 to pay for its share in hiring a consulting firm regarding Bennie Westphal’s 85 riverfront acreage.  What was the total that Cushman & Wakefield of Dallas charged for the consultation, including the Chamber of Commerce and Westphal’s?

Any realtor worth his/her salt could ascertain in 10 minutes the potential of Westphal’s 85 acres. Apparently the only positive thing to come out of the grand theft was the revelation that Fort Smith could not support a baseball stadium which would seat more than 3,500.  In reality, that’s twice too large, undergirded by the fact that baseball is a dying spectator sport. Do the research and observe the NW Arkansas’ Naturals.

If the riverfront has so much potential, get out of the way and let the Westphals or whoever they sell the property to develop it.  But each of you public servants” know well that anything put down there, i.e. the Marshall’s Museum will out of necessity demand taxpayer subsidies if allowed to achieve fruition.

Get out of the entertainment business and adhere to the proper functions of government.  An excellent start would be the streets and sewers.

The easiest job in the whole world is spending someone else’s money.

Joe McCutchen

Government expansion & greedy opportunists?

August 27, 2010

Fort Smith City Directors argue that their constituents AREN’T paying enough taxes.

Directors’ noon meeting, August 24, 2010, revealed their artful, sinister scheme to pass one & perhaps more of their potpourri of proposed new taxes, i.e. ½ % sales tax, or 1 % sales tax on prepared food or a 3rd    option for the reallocation of 10% or less of the revenue from the 1% city sales tax dedicated to street improvements and a rider attached to this proposal to require voters to renew the tax in a decade, should they approve it in January, 2011.

Directors understand all too well what all politicians know, and also keeps them in office, is that Americans will in most cases always vote for the lesser of 2 evils…and all three of these proposals are evil.

In my last missive to the Fort Smith city government, I listed a plethora of unholy positions that city directors and other functionaries might be described as, dishonesty being one.

Observe their collective positions and decide for yourself regarding honesty in the F.S. city government:

  1. Breaking into the 1% street tax which city government proclaimed they would never do prior to the election: hence the tax was passed.
  2. The Directors stated that the U.S. Marshall’s Museum was a private endeavor, and would be so funded. As they are doling out hundreds of thousands of dollars…have they reneged?  If any of the 3 tax proposals pass, the Directors further support putting $250,000 annually into the Museum, and in all likelihood much much more. Presently it is not known how many thousands of dollars the Directors have already put into this $50 million+ government expansionist project just for openers.
  3. Marshall’s Museum executive director, Jim Dunn, whoever he is, made a request for $100,000 from the city for operating funds (?)  The city has already put in another $250,000.
  4. Slickster City Manager Dennis Kelley asked Dunn if “he could wait until after the vote on the Convention Center before a decision is made”.  Shades of Barack Obama & Harry Reid.

Does the above compute to Honesty?

The above, coupled with the Fort Smith Housing Authority are direct brutal assaults on taxpaying citizens.  The Griffin/Pyle cabal continues unabated. Trying to dissect Griffin’s operation that appears in the Times Record (8/27/10) is absolutely an exercise in verbal gymnastics. Griffin seems to treat those millions of dollars flowing from the U.S. Federal Government subsidies as REAL income. (?) Forced redistribution is not real income.

It is stated that there are cash outlays for administrative salaries in amount of $364,260 and $342,257 for management fees.  It is appropriate that Griffin name names and what these names are being paid, and the numbers in the administration. Perhaps the City Board is privy to this information and protecting it, and/or some of said Directors may have rings in their noses.

Ken Pyle, Authority Executive Director, described said Authority as an “innovative Authority, with an expanding portfolio of activities”.   Directors, do you not think it would be of benefit to yourselves and your constituents if you and we were acutely aware of the details of the Griffin/Pyle “Innovative Authority”?

Finally, why is so much emphasis, energy and capital being focused on Garrison Ave?  And why are taxpayer dollars being used to renovate private property?

Transparency? Logical explanations?—I think not.

Kindest regards,

Joe McCutchen

Government’s callous expansion & who benefits?

August 23, 2010

Fort Smith City Government—are they inept, dishonest, arrogant, corrupt or just plain dumb?

Observe:

Flashback :  13 years ago citizens stupidly passed a $55 million tax package to build a convention center, library and the first phase of a master riverfront plan.   I say stupidly because the much more efficient, larger, more attractive Hot Springs Convention Center cost $17 million and the Bud Walton Arena cost $32 million. Using the Walton Arena figures the Fort Smith Convention Center cost almost exactly the same, leaving $23 million out of the $55 million.  What was the Fort Smith library actual final cost? Using the Hot Springs Convention Center cost of $17 million, a surplus of $38 million would exist.  Why such an outrageous price paid for the F.S. Convention Center?  The question is, regarding the comparative costs between the Walton Arena and the Fort Smith Civic Center, why did the Fort Smith Center cost almost the same as the Walton Arena which is much larger and superior construction and many more venues?

It appears that contractors made out like bandits in the construction of the Fort Smith Civic Center. Same mentality that led the city to build the dysfunctional Lee Creek Dam debacle, and additionally, after many denials from the city government and an inordinate number of editorials by then Editor Jack Mosley of the Times Record that the Lake Ft. Smith dam could not possibly be raised, finally after 25 yrs or so it was determined it could be raised after all—why the drastic change in engineering studies (or was there a cover-up?) and what was the real cost to city residents because the city government refused to act honorably and raise the lake dam when originally proposed?  Again, who benefited?  Another question: who was feeding Moseley engineering data which said the dam could not be raised?

The Times Record reports that the Fort Smith Convention Center has a yearly deficit (in bureaucratic terms, that’s “shortfall”) ranging from$650,000 to $1.1 million leaving a $450,000 differential.   The T.R. did not bother to state how many years it was at the $1.1 million vs. the $650,000.   What we do know is since 2001 the city has received $17,700,000 to be applied to the Civic Center deficit over a 9 yr period.  Using the figure $1.1 million yearly, as opposed to the $650,000 yearly expense for 9 years would equal $9.9 million and that figure subtracted from the $17,700,000 would leave a $7,800,000 surplus.

If these dedicated monies had been used properly, utilizing generously the $1.1 million figure as opposed to the $650,000 figure, the Convention Center’s deficits would have been paid for through at least 2018. Again, some of the surplus was used to pay down Sales & Use tax bond debt.  Why? By what authority?  What happened to the remaining balance?

Regarding honesty: the city of Fort Smith appears to be plummeting headlong into a Rust Belt environment, while our administration is hell-bent on involving us, “we the citizens” in more hugely expensive, frivolous projects mirroring the $55 million Convention Center/Library tax package hike. This bunch has already cut up the proposed 1% food tax pie, before the vote.  The city directors either lied to citizens or were tricked into lying when stating the Civil Rights Mausoleum, AKA the Marshall’s Museum would be funded by private dollars.  Now we’re told the Board has already poured hundreds of thousands into this proposed $50 million (and counting) endeavor. How many employees are working allegedly for the Marshall’s Museum now, how much are they being paid and who’s providing the funds?  If one thinks the Convention Center is an expensive losing proposition, reflect a moment if you will on the actual construction cost and the continuing staff, maintenance, insurance, utilities, etc. and hence the enormous deficits this baby will surely produce.  Who paid and how much for the consultants and the architectural work already done?

At tomorrow evening’s meeting (8/24/10), the Directors and other administrative functionaries of the city are going to propose dumping another $100,000 into the proposed Marshall’s Museum.

Other frivolities include another $100,000 (wow) for a Bass Reeve Monument, also billed as a private endeavor.  This expenditure comes in two $50,000 per year increments. After the Bass Reeve Monument is paid off, the $50,000 per year would go the City’s Arts Community…whatever that might be, in perpetuity.  Wasn’t it just a few weeks ago the city proclaimed revenues were down therefore cuts had to be made?  What happened to the suggestion that the City Board give up its $400 per month absurd car expense and absolutely no discussion regarding the Mayor’s $20,000 PER MONTH expense account, which should be only the starting point for cuts.  What happened to the deficit discussions?

The proposed takeover of the Convention Center by the F.S. Advertising & Promotion Commission should be inspected with a microscope. In this regard, Ray Gosack came forth with a heart wrenching decision, that the Commission “should not raise any salaries beyond the rate of inflation through Dec. 31, 2011”.  The arrogance of Gosack, a ward of the taxpayers, even contemplating raising government employee’s salaries at all as companies are downsizing, closing their doors, moving away, and taxpaying citizens are struggling mightily just to have a job. How asinine. “Let ‘em eat cake”?

Citizens, the Fort Smith city government is awash in taxpayer money, and at this time they should be sharply curtailing and cutting expenditures anticipating the bleak future that our nation faces, but all the while they continue their efforts to expand and demand more funding.

Remember, spending other people’s money is the easiest job in the whole world.

Kindest regards,

Joe McCutchen

City government, New Market Tax Credits, Candidates for Ward 4

Fort Smith city government/Griffin…New Market Tax Credits/3 candidates for Ward 4

Is trust in the Fort Smith government waning?  Smoke & Mirrors, or do they really understand what they are approving.

Reporter Ben Bolden of the Times Record has reported numerous times on the Griffin/Pyle New Market Tax Credits Extravaganza, all mirror images of one another.  Little or no investigative journalism has been utilized in the Times Record stories re New Market Tax Credits.

The Fort Smith Housing Authority–Griffin/Pyle, in conjunction with the Fort Smith Planning Commission (a non-elected body) has endorsed Griffin/Pyle’s Community Development Entity (CDE) which is able to apply for the New Market Tax Credits. CDE is akin to “Quality of Place”, “Smart Growth”, etc. all part of the U.N.’s Agenda 21 for “Sustainable Development”, i.e. globalization.

The city board okayed the nebulous CDE without a whimper. Why?

The city board, neither singularly nor collectively, has made any effort to explain the nuances of what a New Market Tax Credit is. Do they themselves know?—probably not. The best that can be ascertained regarding the 20% tax credits sold is that the IRS will forgive federal taxes owed by an individual or corporation on up to that amount invested. Ask yourself why would the federal government make these concessions particularly when our Republic is in a depression and deep deficits? To complete the pie chart, where does the other 80% needed come from?  The federal tax credits are said to help fund a PRIVATE OR NON-PROFIT redevelopment project—define!   It is said New Market Credit funds are intended to incentivize job-creating projects in low income areas.  How? Who does the contracting?  How do Griffin and Pyle benefit economically from this private/non-profit operation? (whatever that might be) Does the Griffin/Pyle Fort Smith Housing Authority not act as a major magnet for the 97/3 (3% of Americans cannot fend for themselves and must be taken care of, 97% of those seeking housing & other welfare refuse to participate in self-reliance) Homeless scam and illegals?  What is the forecast regarding the expansion of HUD in Fort Smith?

A sobering note, topically mentioned in news stories is Griffin/Pyle have indicated they want to form a nexus with the federal government to take over the Marshall’s Museum, formerly billed as a “private” endeavor.  Included in this takeover by Griffin/Pyle are Griffin’s private properties that dot the cities’ landscape, much of which has forced taxpayer subsidies.

This is an exaggerated Urban Renewal of 1964, on a much grander scale, where taxpayers subsidize the redevelopment of private property.

Is the Fort Smith City Board a willing participant in government incursion into private lives and forced redistribution?

It was interesting to note that Ward 3 Director Don Hutchings said “he was excited about the economic potential of the CDE projects” and urged Pyle to continue to “keep the process open.”  Director Hutchings, please explain the economic potential of these projects and by “keep the process open”.

What are the chances of changing directions?  Ward 4 candidates reveal their positions.

  1. Patrick Jacobs…..”wants to serve less than 2 yrs so he can assess whether public service suits him & his family” (translation=to determine if there are any political or economic enhancements)  Jacobs is a ward of Fort Smith’s politically correct crowd….Leadership Fort Smith, “giving back”, “making a difference”, etc.  Jacobs has been reluctant making concrete political and economic statements re city government, would much rather vacillate.  Jacobs wants to hire a full-time Grant Writer…kinda like a fisherman’s depth finder seeking fish to capture.  This would obviously result in more government incursion and involvement in our private lives.

The following is a view of Jacobs’ idea of progress, i.e.” miniature train at Creekmore Park, Streetscape on Garrison Ave. along with the park at West End with its large Ferris Wheel.”

  1. Marshall Sharpe…..Sharpe is employed by OK Foods, a huge magnet for illegal Mexicans and OTM’s.  In my opinion, he would be a representative for those hiring illegals and that alone should defeat him.  He & Jacobs have bandied around the “Quality of Place” federally induced scam on numerous occasions further indicating they are members of the inside crowd.
  2. George Catsavis……Catsavis has posed critical questions, e.g. he does not see the town progressing and he has not seen anyone take the initiative to attract any businesses here. He is against both a restaurant tax and a reallocation of part of the street sales tax to float the Convention Center.  He suggested leasing the Center so the city can remove itself from that obligation. Catsavis also stated the city cannot afford to spend money on features like riverfront development, running West End Park, or the takeover of Ben Geren Regional Park and other projected city involvements.

All practical solutions/actions.

Government solutions to budgetary crisis??

Fort Smith City Government.                                                     July 28, 2010

The Undocumented Sanctuary City & Budgetary Concerns…I think, or maybe comedy.

In the matter of non-profits, better known as 501 c3’s comes remarks from Tracy Winchell, Economic coordinator for Fort Smith, who stated “doing away entirely with the city’s financial contributions to the non-profits would be catastrophic.”  Please Tracy, no broad brushes. In your tear-jerking pleas, tell us how withholding taxpayer money from non-profits could be “catastrophic”.  The fact is, if non-profits can’t make it on their own they should die, and subsidizing non-profits is not a proper function of government.

It is noteworthy that Mayor Baker and Director Hutchings want to protect non-profits, why?  Could it be that both have a long history of receiving their economic largesse from the producers, just as is the case with non-profits?

Director Maddox recommended the Board eliminate the $400 per month car allowance the 7 Directors receive.  $400 per month translates into 150 gal. of gas and conservatively 3000 miles per month, and throw in an oil change and some car washes. Sure is a whole lot of travellin’ going on.

Continuing on with Director Maddox’s question, he asked Deputy Administrator Ray Gosack for examples of city services that could be cut. Now comes the laugher.  Gosack said the city could use grass seed instead of grass sod to replace vegetation.  Also stop picking up euthanized animals.  Now citizens, that’s what I call aggressive dealing with an economic crisis.  As usual Director Maddox is the city director who tries to deal with reality.

It’s been said that the Mayor receives a $250,000 per yr stipend to run the Mayor’s office.  Folks, that’s $20,000 a month and if the 250K is correct, euphemistically I would say this is a tragic case of redistribution.  Bloat-tation, you say?

The question has never been answered, how much do the Mexican illegals cost the undocumented sanctuary city of Fort Smith yearly…or do you even know or care?

Kindest regards,

Sanctuary city continues to self-destruct

June 27, 2010

Pilots agree that the earth is round, but can land masses change locations?  According to Mexican Aztlan, Arkansas is a border state, to be taken over by Mexicans.

U.S. law enforcement, by design, is engaged in selective law enforcement as are all law enforcement agencies.  Fort Smith city police have been turned down by Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) on three occasions re implementation of federal law 287 (g) which allows local policing agencies to arrest illegals. Some say ICE, who is responsible for training, oversight, and immigration law, is incompetent.

Federal and state governments, supported by media, claim 287 (g) promotes “racial profiling and creates a deep mistrust of police departments in the Mexican barrios”. The aforementioned have robbed law enforcement of their best tool to roundup illegals–PROFILING. Media parrots that racial profiling violates civil rights.  Just what are the civil rights of illegal aliens? Obviously cheap labor advocates are winning re the racial profiling contrivance.

The federal government can only be described as constitutionally and criminally corrupt for not enforcing federal law 8 USC which addresses and solves every aspect of the illegal Mexican invasion. Some sources say could be 25-35 million. One of the 17 provisions the constitution demands is securing of our national borders.

The Fed traipses around the globe, engaging in criminal preemptive wars and securing foreign borders while our borders remain porous and increasingly violent.

Unemployment 17%, mass deportation of 25-35 million illegals solves our unemployment crisis, substantially lowers the number of welfare recipients, and generates legitimate revenue alleviating some of our national debt.

8 USC demands arrest and detention of those individuals and companies hiring illegals.   Commence with poultry barons, construction, and fraudulent government agencies hiring illegals, directly or indirectly, e.g. Sanctuary City Fort Smith. Enforce laws, crisis solved.
