Pursuant to the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act (Ark. Code Ann. §25-19-101), I hereby request copies of the following publicrecords:

(a) copies of all expense vouchers orother documentation from or on behalf of Paul Beran supporting any request forreimbursement for any expenses incurred by Paul Beran at any time on or afterJanuary 1, 2007 (note that all expense vouchers and supporting documentation isrequested);

(b) copies of all electronic ticketsand airline receipts for any airline flights taken by Paul Beran for the timeperiod after January 1, 2007;

(c) copies of all documents, e-mails,or other writings or electronic documents that in any way express or state thepurpose for trips taken by Dr. Beran outside the United States at any timeafter January 1, 2007;

(d) copies of all documents,recordings, e-mails, or other writings or electronic documents or files makingany report or reports concerning trips taken by Paul Beran outside the UnitedStates at any time on or after January 1, 2007.

Please be advised that I am specifically excluding from thisrequest any documents that are protected from disclosure by the FamilyEducational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, 20 USC § 1232g. To the extentthat any document requested herein contains information that is eitherprivileged from disclosure or the disclosure of which is prohibited by any law,please redact the portion which is privileged prior to making such documentavailable to me.

The requested information may beprovided to me at the address specified above. I offer to pay the actualcost of reproduction, as defined by statute, either in advance of copying orpursuant to a statement or invoice from you after copying occurs. Neither was mode of travel& expenses for in-state trips given in the FOI response.

GULLIVER’S TRAVELS WEREN’T FUNDED BY TAXPAYERS, CHANCELLOR BERAN’S ARE.

It is obvious that most ifnot all these trips could be satisfied with emails, faxes, and conferencecalls, excluding the 3 regularly scheduled October trips to the Orient, whichare murky arrangements at best. None of this appears to have anything todo with quality of course work and/or students. Most of these meetings indicatethey are nothing more than creating fundraising strategies and expanding thetaxpayer subsidized protection racket for elite “education” insiders.

Before grabbing the UAFScarousel ring, Beran was a low level bureaucrat. What aleap.

The scary aspect ofBeran’s travel odysseys is the fact that this abuse is going on in everygovernment school system. For instance, what type of fiscal abuse istaking place at the flagship—UA-Fayetteville with Chancellor David Gearhart’sready access to the state’s King Air airplane?

So-called “publiceducation” at all levels is nothing more than exercises in studentindoctrination and “educators” self-serving expansionist stratagems.

Is there any oversightover these perceived abuses, if so who is in charge?

As with all governmententities, producing citizens are the victims.

Never forget, the easiestjob in the whole world is spending someone else’s money!
