Sheriff’s Race Stalemate

The Little Rock Relay, i.e. the Sebastian County Sheriff’s race.             September 21, 2010

Sheriff Frank Atkinson’s administration must be identified as the most incompetent administration in the history of Sebastian County and what is evolving are two candidates for Sheriff who have quietly wallowed in the Atkinson administration for years.  Now does anyone believe either of these two is capable of running a Sheriff’s department constitutionally and legally?

One must wonder what the involvements are with the County Judge and the Quorum Court.  It is believed that the aforementioned two have constitutional oversight of the Sheriff’s department, which in this case indicates they approve of the ineptness of the Atkinson administration.

There is a long list of failures that the Sheriff’s department has been responsible for:

1.      Escapes

2.      Death

3.      Discharging prisoners by mistake

4.      Commandeering Ben Geren Park for the express purpose of entertaining and protecting illegal Mexican aliens and OTM’s, at taxpayer expense for OK Foods who paid only $1,000 for their last 3 day extravaganza utilizing the bulk of the Sebastian County’s Sheriff Department.

5.      Not only did the Sheriff’s office refuse to implement federal immigration law 8 USC, which demands the Sheriff to enforce but to the contrary Atkinson violated the law by aiding and abetting some 3,500 illegals and their employers.

6.      Gang activities

The above 6 are in no way construed to be isolated instances.

Candidates Bill Hollenbeck (D) and Tom Young (R) have stated their prescriptions for returning the Sebastian County’s Sheriff’s office to acceptable standards.  The question arises why have they not influenced the Sheriff or spoken out, or resigned?

About all that can be said about these two candidates is that they have been long term employees in law enforcement.

This is a textbook case of having to vote for the lesser of two evils since there is no write-in or independent seeking the office, or do the honorable thing, at this time, by withholding your vote.

Regarding candidate Young: A Freedom of Information request was filed a few years ago regarding the illegal activities of the Sheriff’s department dealing with OK Foods and their illegal employees. One of the items in the FOI was for them to produce the Sheriff’s records on the Ben Geren Park/OK Foods “picnics”.  Candidate Young responded by stating in writing that the Sheriff did not keep those kind of records, if true how do they know who to pay and how much, not to mention the use of all that equipment.

Regarding candidate Hollenbeck: with the destruction being carried out by the Democrat Party today, anyone declaring themselves a Democrat should be summarily defeated, understanding that the Republican Party, at least at this time, is only marginally better.

Now to the Little Rock Relay.   Candidate Hollenbeck has the same stance on illegal immigration as Barak Hussein Obama, i.e. amnesty.  Gary Grimes, former Sebastian County Sheriff, and now a lackey for Gov. Mike Beebe is running Hollenbeck’s campaign. Strong-arm Gov. Mike Beebe hands off to Gary Grimes, who hands off the Hollenbeck, and ultimately Sheriff Atkinson, in all likelihood, will get a newly created job compliments of Beebe…and we know how good Beebe is at creating government jobs. It has been said that Hollenbeck is a disciple of Obama.

In the interest of absolute facts, both of these candidates should come forward and address all these issues immediately.

Both candidates are against term limits with the feeble excuse that would necessarily put them in a perpetual campaign mode, in actuality what it would do is prevent whichever sheriff from getting himself ensconced in a job for life.

Kindest regards,

Joe McCutchen
