The Jim Keet/Gov. Mike Beebe jousting and how it will affect Arkansans. September 19, 2010
In the Republican corner, Candidate for Governor Jim Keet has admitted his failure to pay federal income tax for a year, but has since made restitution.
What can be learned from that simple fact? The fact demonstrates candidate Keet was successful in a venture or ventures that produced enough income that he had to pay federal taxes on a quarterly basis. In this case, it also provides information that he created numerous jobs and sustained those jobs; obviously indicative that he was an entrepreneur and possessed acute business acumen.
On the other hand, in the Democrat corner, candidate Gov. Mike Beebe, at least at this juncture, in addition to being a Democrat is also an apostle for Pres. Barak Obama. Noteworthy: the fact that Beebe has been and is a career politician with only a semi-notable legislative achievement, i.e. reducing the grocery tax by 1 cent, but of course he has raised a plethora of new taxes. Observing the Governorâs recent political endeavors, speaking precisely of Beebeâs 6 yrs as governor:
1. Gov. Beebe has refused to develop a comprehensive public plan for the illegal Mexican invasion crisis, always stating it is a âfederal responsibilityââ¦translation: his position is simply to allow his constituents to be trampled by the invasion of illegal Mexican aliensâ¦monetarily, physically and culturally. Fact–Every state has the right to defend by any Constitutional means its sovereignty. It appears the Governor is subservient to Poultry, Construction, and Banking?
2. During 2008, under Gov. Beebeâs direction, a tobacco tax was instituted and sold Arkansas voters as a means of funding a Level I Trauma Center. That money went into the General Fund and when money goes into that fund there is no accountability. There was $100 million generated from the tobacco tax, so the question is: (1) Is the money in the General Fund? (2) has the Trauma Center location been determined? (3) has the real estate been purchased for the Centerâ¦if so how much? (4) Has the project been completed or even started? (5) Was the facility to be built in Tennessee?
3. Arkansas law requires a balanced budget. Is the budget balanced in fact?
4. Does the state of Arkansas owe the federal govât $300 million?
Early in the Beebe administration the Governor approved the purchase of a new Beechcraft King Air airplane. Granted the former Governor Huckabee flew the previous King Air on hundreds of flights that had no relation to state government. The excuse offered by Beebe was the King was old and the state needed a new aircraft. The fact is that aircraft with proper maintenance can fly perfectly well and safely for decades. The new King was in the $4 million class.
In the matter of stringent governmental control by the Beebe administration?
1. While taxpaying citizens are reeling from any number of negative activities, e.g. NAFTA, GATT, depression, illegal Mexican invasion, outsourcing, loss of jobsâ¦this governor has hired 3,400 new government employees. Gov. Beebe has offered up a litany of excuses why this was allowed to occur.
2. Another travesty in the Beebe administrationâthe state owns at least 9,000 vehicles with little evidence who is driving these vehicles and why.
3. The state Game & Fish Commission has within its possession 658 vehicles and 613 employeesâ¦howâs that for accountability and arrogance?
Enough from the Beebe corner.
At this particular time the Democrats are in the lead nationally and statewide in the matter of sleaziness, criminality and the trampling of the Constitution, but not by much. 8 yrs of Bush/Boozman provided the means for the present top-down assault on citizensâ freedoms and the rule of law.
If there ever was the case for the Hook, the time is now.
After all, itâs the Republic.
Kindest regards,
Joe McCutchen
