 Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-CT) has authored a bill S.1619 titled the ‘Livable Communities Act.’ It is one of the most dangerous bills to ever threaten our liberty. Worse even than the Obamacare scheme.
S.1619 creates a new permanent federal office: The Office of Sustainable Housing and Communities” for the enforcement of this bill the “Development Czar” if you will.

Sen. Dodd is lying when he says S.1619 is purely voluntary. The $4 billion in grants will be used by radical green groups (who helped write it) to force your city council to comply.

If our city says no to the pressure to take the grant money the radical greens will tell your citizens that their city officials are losing them millions of dollars that is owed to the community. Then, when the council caves into the pressure and takes the money, it will force compliance. THAT IS NOT VOLUNTARY – IT IS BLACKMAIL.

              
Senator Dodd will tell you that the bill is simply about uniformity to control development to save energy and to preserve rural areas. That is not true. After 15 years of fighting Sustainable policy I can assure you it is about control. Sustainablist policy focuses on three things: land use, redistribution of wealth, and population control.

S.1619 sets up a system for federally mandated housing uniformity, forcing homeowners to put on new roofs and windows, new “energy efficient” appliances, etc.  (Which could cost each homeowner upwards of $35,000.00)

– S.1619 will establish top down control that turns our communities into little soviets, driven by non-elected boards, councils and regional governments.

– As it reduces the amount of land available for homes (smart growth) S.1619 will have to lead to the establishment of federally mandated family planning for population control.

– And of course: it will raise taxes.

The nation is on the verge of bankruptcy from massive federal spending. This is certainly not the time to create new bureaucracies and spending boondoggles even if Sustainable Development was an honest concern over environmental protection.

WHICH IT IS NOT!. Sustainable Development is a blue print for top-down control of our communities, using enforcement by non-elected boards, councils and regional government to transform our local control into a little soviet run by untouchable bureaucrats.

S.1619 is the first federal Sustainable Development law to enforce the UN?s Agenda 21. It must be stopped now ? or every single community in America will be forced to comply with UN policy.

S.1619 has already been passed out of the Senate Banking Committee and is headed for a floor vote.

It will do no good to try to put pressure on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to stop this bill. I’m not even going to try. He is a major supporter of this forced socialism and will not listen to our demands.

Griffin & Pyle strike again.                                  September 7, 2010

Stack ‘em & Pack ‘em.  Build it and they will come.  Folks, it’s all about FUNDING.  Just like Beran at UAFS, another “5-Year Plan” foisted on taxpayers…shades of the old Soviet. (Can you imagine what this bunch will do to us in 5 years left to their own devices?)

An article by Ben Boulden in today’s Times Record (9/7/10) is supposed to be taken seriously and absolutely no laughing.   Fort Smith, a city of some 83,000 residents,  is being victimized by a “poll” of 70 people.  These 70 respondents saw a “high need” for more housing support for the so-called homeless.  Question: how many of these 70 people who are desirous of increasing welfare and parasitism pay income or property taxes? 

The Fort Smith Community Development Department (now that’s a mouthful) sponsored this ludicrous survey.  They claim to have 500 “clients” per month and the number is growing exponentially.  Calling these people “clients” is akin to Federal & State governments calling welfare recipients “customers”.  

Ms. Gabriel, a functionary in this welfare program states “Low-income people need to have available more vouchers so as to make standard housing more affordable.”  Standard housing? 

Now enter Ken Pyle, Richard Griffin’s enabler, with the statement of the day.  “With more funding the Housing Authority could accommodate the working poor, the disabled and more homeless.”  Build it and they will come.

You boys did not absorb the 97/3 rule, so here it is again.  3% of Americans cannot take care of themselves mentally or physically, therefore their every need should be tended to without question.  97% should be ignored and it will take them 2 weeks to achieve their desired standard of living….off the welfare teat.

Back to the Riverfront.

As often proclaimed…Fort Smith is awash in taxpayers’ money, e.g. $62,000 to pay for its share in hiring a consulting firm regarding Bennie Westphal’s 85 riverfront acreage.  What was the total that Cushman & Wakefield of Dallas charged for the consultation, including the Chamber of Commerce and Westphal’s?

 

Any realtor worth his/her salt could ascertain in 10 minutes the potential of Westphal’s 85 acres. Apparently the only positive thing to come out of the grand theft was the revelation that Fort Smith could not support a baseball stadium which would seat more than 3,500.  In reality, that’s twice too large, undergirded by the fact that baseball is a dying spectator sport. Do the research and observe the NW Arkansas’ Naturals.

If the riverfront has so much potential, get out of the way and let the Westphals or whoever they sell the property to develop it.  But each of you public servants” know well that anything put down there, i.e. the Marshall’s Museum will out of necessity demand taxpayer subsidies if allowed to achieve fruition.   

Get out of the entertainment business and adhere to the proper functions of government.  An excellent start would be the streets and sewers.

The easiest job in the whole world is spending someone else’s money.

Chancellor Paul Beran, the UAFS Minister of Illusion.                                     August 31, 2010

The University of Arkansas of Fort Smith Chancellor Paul Beran and his UAFS “Five Year Plan” (reminiscent of the old Soviet Union Politburo’s transmitted via Fort Smith’s own Pravda?)

August 20, 2010 Beran unveiled a “Five Year Plan” for UAFS, a product of globalist interests parroting the U. N’s Agenda 21, emanating from our nation’s capitol.

A distilled version on the “Five Year Plan” is right out of the globalist playbook. The Chancellor titled, or maybe not, the “Five Year Plan” containing “Six Pillars” and there are 24 separate initiatives and 100 breathtaking action items. What are they? Understand that the 5 year scheme, replete with doublespeak explanations, are designed not to be understood by lay citizens, but the semantics he puts forward are absolutely understood by globalist bureaucrats and politicians. Here they are:

  1. Develop as a center for intellectual, artistic and social, cultural advancement. (?)
  2. Maximize citizenship and real-world work and application experiences. (?)
  3. Solidify and expand the University’s position as a primary contributor to economic development. (?)  (Since when is that a proper function of education?)
  4. Lead in the innovative use of technology.  (?)  Simply put, it’s “Global Sharing”.  Beran refers to this as international distance-learning.
  5. Promote global learning initiatives. (?)
  6. Continue to seek and steward resources.  (?)  (Translation: North Little Rock Mayor Hayes’s International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI)  aka stack ‘em & pack ‘em, more commonly known as “Sustainable Development” all a part of the U.N.’s Agenda 21)

Beran continues his globalist attack on America by stating that his “Five Year Plan” will deepen international ties and programs. (President George Washington admonished NO foreign entanglements) Observe what our elected & hired fools are doing in this regard.  All Beran’s bloviating, on a personal level, sets the stage for he and his cabal to operate an international travelogue he has perfected, replete with a country club setting.  With every breath Beran is selling out the American Rugged Individual Dream for a stake in Globalism.  On multiple occasions Chancellor Beran has mentioned Agenda 21, Sustainable programs, and Quality of Place which, by the way, are already deeply entrenched in much of our state. The UAFS is responsible for “cultural and educational training and being the Quality of Place connection” for economic development, so says Beran. There is a grand gulf between cultural and educational training and actual Teaching.  Explain Chancellor, what does “cultural training” encompass?

Beran champions his travels to the Orient and singles out China and Japan, among others, as fertile ground for him and his handlers to cultivate the movement of global corporations to the United States.

A few points that Beran and his globalist buddies are not pointing out to the citizens who are subsidizing his nefarious adventures.

  1. The U.S. Dollar has been the global peg currency, i.e. the International Standard trading instrument.
  2. The Chinese Dollar is becoming the International Standard currency.
  3. U.S. banks are now using the Chinese Dollar when trading internationally.
  4. The idea that a company can no longer make it without being connected internationally is the same idea Globalists have been preaching to our children as far back as 1994, via government schools, or maybe before, e.g. “one of the outcomes the children have to understand that we are globally interconnected and can no longer make it on our own as a country”…compliments of Clinton’s Outcome-Based education, followed by Bush’s No Child Left Behind. These indoctrination programs have academically seduced at least 2 generations of Americans and the most traumatic one is public school teachers who are victims of the same system and most do not know any better.

As Beran knowingly or unknowingly continues his globalist traitorous assaults on our sovereignty by bringing in foreign national businesses and most particularly referencing the Communist Chinese, who are certainly not our friends and are coming here strictly for industrial espionage. As a side note, foreign national corporations are in no way obligated to hire American citizens for the businesses they bring here.

Chancellor Beran has defined the word oxymoron.  On the one hand he is hailing his international exploits when in actuality he’s aiding in the destruction of our nation and citizenry making us no more than a 3rd World dumping ground, while on the other side of the coin he states emphatically that he and the UAFS are championing entrepreneurship.  The Chancellor can’t have it both ways. This endeavor can only be defined as Marxist Communism because entrepreneurs are self-taught, not mass-produced in a university setting and cannot flourish in that type of environment.

He either is now or has been the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Innovation & Entrepreneur Center, an organization which allegedly develops initiatives to promote, grow, and stimulate entrepreneurialism. The way to promote, grow and stimulate entrepreneurs is to leave them alone.

Chancellor Beran speaks about his efforts in persuading Mitsubishi Power System to locate in Fort Smith in the near future.  Beran continues his bloviating about how many Japanese families will emigrate to Fort Smith and all of the accompanying services to be heaped upon these families.  So the questions are, what was the price paid to stimulate Mitsubishi to consider moving here, what price to keep them once entrenched and who pays and how much?  Why weren’t American windmill companies recruited to expand into the Fort Smith market?

To give taxpaying citizens some idea of the broad scope of Beran and his handlers creations, here are some of the countries “interconnected” to UAFS—Viet Nam, Brazil, Argentina, China, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Japan, England, Trinidad, Bulgaria and Greece. Has Chancellor Beran visited all these countries?

Chancellor Beran, you are an integral part of the movement designed to change the face of the United States of America from a sovereign country to a multicultural gulag, orchestrated by a Marxist Communist President Obama and his predecessors.

The primary function of all U.S. education is to TEACH…our TRUE history, our heritage, our culture, Western Civilization, non-revisionist core subjects…all with rigorous expectations of merit and excellence.  The Egalitarian approach to education (bringing everybody down to the same level) is the hallmark of tyranny, whether Communist, Fascist, Dictatorship, et al.

Fort Smith City Directors argue that their constituents AREN’T paying enough taxes.

Directors’ noon meeting, August 24, 2010, revealed their artful, sinister scheme to pass one & perhaps more of their potpourri of proposed new taxes, i.e. ½ % sales tax, or 1 % sales tax on prepared food or a 3rd    option for the reallocation of 10% or less of the revenue from the 1% city sales tax dedicated to street improvements and a rider attached to this proposal to require voters to renew the tax in a decade, should they approve it in January, 2011.

Directors understand all too well what all politicians know, and also keeps them in office, is that Americans will in most cases always vote for the lesser of 2 evils…and all three of these proposals are evil.

In my last missive to the Fort Smith city government, I listed a plethora of unholy positions that city directors and other functionaries might be described as, dishonesty being one.

Observe their collective positions and decide for yourself regarding honesty in the F.S. city government:

  1. Breaking into the 1% street tax which city government proclaimed they would never do prior to the election: hence the tax was passed.
  2. The Directors stated that the U.S. Marshall’s Museum was a private endeavor, and would be so funded. As they are doling out hundreds of thousands of dollars…have they reneged?  If any of the 3 tax proposals pass, the Directors further support putting $250,000 annually into the Museum, and in all likelihood much much more. Presently it is not known how many thousands of dollars the Directors have already put into this $50 million+ government expansionist project just for openers.
  3. Marshall’s Museum executive director, Jim Dunn, whoever he is, made a request for $100,000 from the city for operating funds (?)  The city has already put in another $250,000.
  4. Slickster City Manager Dennis Kelley asked Dunn if “he could wait until after the vote on the Convention Center before a decision is made”.  Shades of Barack Obama & Harry Reid.

Does the above compute to Honesty?

The above, coupled with the Fort Smith Housing Authority are direct brutal assaults on taxpaying citizens.  The Griffin/Pyle cabal continues unabated. Trying to dissect Griffin’s operation that appears in the Times Record (8/27/10) is absolutely an exercise in verbal gymnastics. Griffin seems to treat those millions of dollars flowing from the U.S. Federal Government subsidies as REAL income. (?) Forced redistribution is not real income.

It is stated that there are cash outlays for administrative salaries in amount of $364,260 and $342,257 for management fees.  It is appropriate that Griffin name names and what these names are being paid, and the numbers in the administration. Perhaps the City Board is privy to this information and protecting it, and/or some of said Directors may have rings in their noses.

Ken Pyle, Authority Executive Director, described said Authority as an “innovative Authority, with an expanding portfolio of activities”.   Directors, do you not think it would be of benefit to yourselves and your constituents if you and we were acutely aware of the details of the Griffin/Pyle “Innovative Authority”?

Finally, why is so much emphasis, energy and capital being focused on Garrison Ave?  And why are taxpayer dollars being used to renovate private property?

Transparency? Logical explanations?—I think not.

Government’s callous expansion & who benefits?

Fort Smith City Government—are they inept, dishonest, arrogant, corrupt or just plain dumb?

Observe:

Flashback :  13 years ago citizens stupidly passed a $55 million tax package to build a convention center, library and the first phase of a master riverfront plan.   I say stupidly because the much more efficient, larger, more attractive Hot Springs Convention Center cost $17 million and the Bud Walton Arena cost $32 million. Using the Walton Arena figures the Fort Smith Convention Center cost almost exactly the same, leaving $23 million out of the $55 million.  What was the Fort Smith library actual final cost? Using the Hot Springs Convention Center cost of $17 million, a surplus of $38 million would exist.  Why such an outrageous price paid for the F.S. Convention Center?  The question is, regarding the comparative costs between the Walton Arena and the Fort Smith Civic Center, why did the Fort Smith Center cost almost the same as the Walton Arena which is much larger and superior construction and many more venues?

It appears that contractors made out like bandits in the construction of the Fort Smith Civic Center. Same mentality that led the city to build the dysfunctional Lee Creek Dam debacle, and additionally, after many denials from the city government and an inordinate number of editorials by then Editor Jack Mosley of the Times Record that the Lake Ft. Smith dam could not possibly be raised, finally after 25 yrs or so it was determined it could be raised after all—why the drastic change in engineering studies (or was there a cover-up?) and what was the real cost to city residents because the city government refused to act honorably and raise the lake dam when originally proposed?  Again, who benefited?  Another question: who was feeding Moseley engineering data which said the dam could not be raised?

The Times Record reports that the Fort Smith Convention Center has a yearly deficit (in bureaucratic terms, that’s “shortfall”) ranging from$650,000 to $1.1 million leaving a $450,000 differential.   The T.R. did not bother to state how many years it was at the $1.1 million vs. the $650,000.   What we do know is since 2001 the city has received $17,700,000 to be applied to the Civic Center deficit over a 9 yr period.  Using the figure $1.1 million yearly, as opposed to the $650,000 yearly expense for 9 years would equal $9.9 million and that figure subtracted from the $17,700,000 would leave a $7,800,000 surplus. 

If these dedicated monies had been used properly, utilizing generously the $1.1 million figure as opposed to the $650,000 figure, the Convention Center’s deficits would have been paid for through at least 2018. Again, some of the surplus was used to pay down Sales & Use tax bond debt.  Why? By what authority?  What happened to the remaining balance? 

Regarding honesty: the city of Fort Smith appears to be plummeting headlong into a Rust Belt environment, while our administration is hell-bent on involving us, “we the citizens” in more hugely expensive, frivolous projects mirroring the $55 million Convention Center/Library tax package hike. This bunch has already cut up the proposed 1% food tax pie, before the vote.  The city directors either lied to citizens or were tricked into lying when stating the Civil Rights Mausoleum, AKA the Marshall’s Museum would be funded by private dollars.  Now we’re told the Board has already poured hundreds of thousands into this proposed $50 million (and counting) endeavor. How many employees are working allegedly for the Marshall’s Museum now, how much are they being paid and who’s providing the funds?  If one thinks the Convention Center is an expensive losing proposition, reflect a moment if you will on the actual construction cost and the continuing staff, maintenance, insurance, utilities, etc. and hence the enormous deficits this baby will surely produce.  Who paid and how much for the consultants and the architectural work already done? 

At tomorrow evening’s meeting (8/24/10), the Directors and other administrative functionaries of the city are going to propose dumping another $100,000 into the proposed Marshall’s Museum.

Other frivolities include another $100,000 (wow) for a Bass Reeve Monument, also billed as a private endeavor.  This expenditure comes in two $50,000 per year increments. After the Bass Reeve Monument is paid off, the $50,000 per year would go the City’s Arts Community…whatever that might be, in perpetuity.  Wasn’t it just a few weeks ago the city proclaimed revenues were down therefore cuts had to be made?  What happened to the suggestion that the City Board give up its $400 per month absurd car expense and absolutely no discussion regarding the Mayor’s $20,000 PER MONTH expense account, which should be only the starting point for cuts.  What happened to the deficit discussions?

The proposed takeover of the Convention Center by the F.S. Advertising & Promotion Commission should be inspected with a microscope. In this regard, Ray Gosack came forth with a heart wrenching decision, that the Commission “should not raise any salaries beyond the rate of inflation through Dec. 31, 2011”.  The arrogance of Gosack, a ward of the taxpayers, even contemplating raising government employee’s salaries at all as companies are downsizing, closing their doors, moving away, and taxpaying citizens are struggling mightily just to have a job. How asinine. “Let ‘em eat cake”?

Citizens, the Fort Smith city government is awash in taxpayer money, and at this time they should be sharply curtailing and cutting expenditures anticipating the bleak future that our nation faces, but all the while they continue their efforts to expand and demand more funding.

Remember, spending other people’s money is the easiest job in the whole world.

THE CLARION CALL                                                  August 20, 2010

Glenn Beck and his clarion call for a nuclear attack against Iran orchestrated by Republican Neoconservatives and worldwide Jewish interests.

Glenn Beck’s show which was seen on Fox News 4 PM CDT, August 16, 2012, clearly called for a nuclear attack on Iran by Israel undergirded by the United States of America.  As was the case in Iraq and now Afghanistan and Pakistan, U.S. might is doing Israel’s bidding both in blood and treasure.   This is not to mention the killed and maimed Americans and the tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis, Afghans & Pakis being slaughtered by U.S. forces, all in the name of the phony “War on Terrorism”.  Preemptive invasions have been and are being constructed on a huge bodies of lies. The countries invaded by Clinton, Bush, and now Obama have in no way threatened our sovereignty or our person nor do they have the capability to do so. Why have we not seen some movement toward peace?

Beck has performed a very excellent service exposing the Marxist/Communist activities of the Democrat party, allegedly led by the displaced Kenyan, AKA President Barak Obama.

Unfortunately, Beck has chosen not to dissect the equally dangerous Republican—Neoconservative party directed by the Republican members of Congress (both houses), many of whom are Israel-firsters with a nexus to global Jewish interests.  Neoconservatives are feverishly working to take absolute control of the Republican Party.  The Republican Party for all intents and purposes has donned the mantle of a “War Party” and is adhering to the mantra of Professor Leo Straus, by heralding his battle cry “Eternal war for eternal peace” and the “Noble Lie”. Note the Neoconservative movement was created in part by Irving Kristol a follower of Communist Leon Trotsky.  His son Bill Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard” was one of the two individuals who selected Sarah Palin as McCain’s Vice-Presidential running mate.

Some prominent individuals who claim to be Republicans but in actuality are purebred Neoconservatives are: Newt Gingrich, John Bolton, Sarah Palin, Karl Rove, John McCain, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, and Bill O’Reilly. Is there any evidence these kinds of leaders and their followers have any intention of promoting peace and diplomacy such as the Founders firmly advised?  The only solution for a sustained global peace is the reintroduction of the Enlightenment ideas/philosophy of individual rights and rule of law.

The unabated invasions of our Southern border by illegal Mexican nationals, and now a dramatic increase in “Other than Mexicans” (OTM’s) has and is enormously diluting our legal American population and more specifically, the Founding stock of our Republic.  Irrespective of what slobbering politicians and bureaucrats proclaim regarding the wonders of Multi-Culturalism, Multi-Culturalism is a nation killer and ultimately leads to civil unrest with healthy doses of violence.  OBSERVE. 

The two political parties, Democrat and Republican, give only lip service to corralling the overwhelming numbers of 3rd World ethnic invaders, legal and illegal. This translates to votes for the Democrats and cheap labor for the Republicans, wings of the same Rapacious Harpy (Patrick Henry). OBSERVE. Both Parties are criminally corrupt to the core.  Americans have proven themselves to be political simpletons by continuing to reelect the same corrupt faces decade in and decade out, e.g.  Arkansas has two incumbents seeking the same U.S. Senate seat…10 year Republican incumbent Congressman John “international travelin’ man” Boozman and  the 12 year Democrat incumbent Blanche “the Delta Duchess” Lincoln.  The two can only be described as traitorous, self-serving buffoons, yet Arkansans will vote one of the two to a 6 year term in the Senate, not willing to deal with the reality of their records, i.e. both have contributed mightily to the tragic multiple crises our once preeminent Republic now faces. OBSERVE.

 Lesser of two evils you say?  Hogwash. No consideration should be given to either Sen. Lincoln or Cong. Boozman.  Boozman rubber stamped every unconstitutional and criminal act by the Bush II administration and showed no signs of having a modicum of independence in his mental make-up.  I’m taking for granted that more Arkansans are aware of Lincoln’s notorious legislative conduct than they are of Boozman’s.  The real Congressman John Boozman and his traitorous conduct will be posted on the website of arkansasfreedom.net at a later date.  OBSERVE their insipid campaigns.

 

Beck has a substantial following and unfortunately he has gone to preaching instead of teaching.  He pontificates that the U.S. is God’s country and that our only recourse is to put our faith & trust in the Almighty to save our country. This is an example of the neoconservative manipulation of religion and patriotism to achieve their goals.  Beck understands that most Americans are wired for emotionalism and routinely fall prey to frightening false flags and other emotional stimuli, e.g. August 16, 2010 Commander General Petraeus stated with a straight face that high on his agenda was killing Osama bin Laden.  Does anyone really believe bin Laden is alive?  What a cruel hoax of an emotion builder.  Such tripe was the case in the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.  We must not fall into the neo-con trap and allow the U.S. federal government to involve itself with Israel vs. Iran. The IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) continually states that Iran is not pursuing nuclear warheads. President Ahmadinejad  requested numerous meetings with former president Bush and has pursued a meeting with Obama for the express purpose of discussing Iran’s nuclear intentions…all have been ignored by Bush and Obama. So much for diplomacy and Hail to Arrogance by our “Commander’s in Chief”.

A return to our core principles and our Founders philosophy of Individual rights & freedoms will save us.  It is unfortunate that individuals like money-changer John Hagee and his ilk hold sway over so many good, well-meaning Americans, while spewing  Dispensationalism and his hatred of the Muslim community.  Since the “Free” Press no longer exists, the controlled media spews only propaganda uttered by Marxist/Communist Democrats and the neoconservative Republican War Party.

Citizens, if we allow Israel and global Jewish special interests to dictate our Mideast policies and strategies and draw us into a nuclear conflagration aimed at Iran, we will reap a global Armageddon.

Beck appears to be “one of the chosen”, referencing his march to war, while sitting on a plush bench.   His utterings must not be a call to Arms but rather a call to Peace by returning our global armed forces to the bounds of the U.S. and securing our national borders, deporting all 3rd World illegals, which will protect citizens, citizenship, wealth, and sovereignty.  Those doing the hiring and any other aiding or abetting of illegals must be arrested, fined, and jailed in accordance with existing Federal Law 8 USC. We were a nation of laws; now selective law enforcement rules the day. Immigration has fractured our society and in all likelihood, beyond repair.  Acculturation is not taking place, just the opposite….OBSERVE.

Citizens, there is one and only one chance to redirect the fortunes of our beloved Republic—vote out ALL incumbents, no matter how bad the opponent. There is no middle ground.  Party politics has all but destroyed our country and left to their devices will do so.

News from Fort Smith, the undocumented sanctuary city.

Why?

Will tell you why.

Fort Smith City government has dedicated themselves to wiping out the city’s deficit.

Citizens reading this screed are asking where’s the proof?  How dare you question the legitimacy of this duly elected Board? Assistant City Manager Gosack has already proclaimed that the city could utilize grass seed instead of sod and discontinue transporting dead animals to the morgue in order to save money.

Following on the heels of this huge cost cutting suggestion, the City Directors, calling on their economic wisdom, will remove themselves from the taxpayer lunch table twice a month.  Now that is commitment; relieving the taxpayers from funding 14 meals per month!

At about the same time the Convention Center Commission (food tax bunch) will also remove themselves from the taxpayer’s funded table, saving the cost of approximately 8 meals per month. The Convention Center Commission, by their action, has just taken a big slice out of the economic deficit.

On a far less humorous note these alleged city leaders have shown their arrogance in claiming the aforementioned actions are deficit reducing measures.  Obviously this bunch has no intention of removing or reducing the frivolities of city government, e.g. the mayor’s expense account of $20,000 per month, and a multitude of others.

Enter Richard Griffin and his sidekick Ken Pyle with another of the many U.S. Federal Government’s odoriferous programs.  In this case it’s the New Market Tax Credits program to further expand freedom-draining government and exploit citizens. “Those tax credits CAN be sold to investors to offset federal tax liabilities”. (Quotes are from Times Record)  Explanation please.

New Markets is another embryonic government control spin-off from the globalist “Sustainable Development” scheme.  (See Quality of Place)

Question—what kind of double talk is this? Added to that nebulous equation are the following two sentences, which to say the least questions the legitimacy of Griffin Enterprises, e.g. 1. “Money from that sale then CAN be used to fund about 20% (from whence comes the other 80%?) of the cost of an economic redevelopment project”. 2.” New Market Credit funds are INTENDED to incentivize job-creating projects in low-income areas”.    Beware of the words CAN and INTENDED.

Furthermore, the “Homeless” theatrics are beginning to wear thin on the citizens who pay for their productions, Fort Smith Housing Authority, HUD, etc.  The Homeless scam is a 97/3% deal.   3% of the equation cannot fend for themselves physically or mentally and must be taken care of in their totality.  97% of the equation are those who refuse to participate in the arena of life by fending for themselves.  These are precisely the types Griffin, et al cater to, transferring the huge economic expenditures to middleclass Fort Smith and the Republic.

Why should the city be involved in the central government’s scam and opportunistic enablers?  Where are the religious communities and the 501 ©3 non-profits in this matter?  These two entities should be more than willing to satisfy the 3% needs.  A legitimate 501 ©3 or 4 does not depend on or need taxpayers’ funds, and neither do any churches, e.g. Catholic Charities receives billions in taxpayer monies for their sanctuary programs for illegal aliens.  “Faith-based” funding is unconstitutional and immoral.

Back in the day, the Fort Smith Times Record was indeed a worthy newspaper.  Past editors drew much legitimate editorial acclaim.  The 3 who come to mind are Clarence Byrnes, Donald W. Reynolds, and Jack Moseley.   These gentlemen wrote editorials daily and were always substantive.  Not so today.

Since Warren Stephens, owner of Stephens, Inc. took control of the Times; editorials have disappeared in the main.  Occasionally, as is the case today 8/1/10 we get a pabulum infested politically correct editorial, always parroting the “establishment talking points”.

Today’s editorial “State needs to do better for children” is a case in point.  The editor, Byron Tate, who apparently wrote the socialistic blathering is expansive on how terrible the conditions are in Arkansas referencing the children.  In his negative posturing regarding the state of Arkansas children he makes this statement, “It’s equally obvious that the state isn’t doing nearly enough to provide for its young”.  Editor, since when do the young belong to the state?  What are you saying about the mentality of those having babies they can’t afford and neglect?  That makes the rest of us responsible?

Next, Editor Tate mentions Arkids First, a welfare program designed for children and created by that forked-tongued former governor Mike Huckabee and has expanded into servicing adults. Tate now wants to make Arkids First available to pregnant women.   How generous.  Tate fails to inform his readership that middleclass Arkansans are already subsidizing illegal Mexican and OTM pregnant women with Huckabee’s FREE prenatal & postnatal care, which has already produced more than 10,000 Anchor Babies who are awarded welfare to age 21 and they can bring in their immediate family from their mother country.

So much for the dispensing of unearned largesse to illegals and the growing citizen welfare community by politicians, bureaucrats and the castrated media.

Transparency—287(g) & a hotel environment for illegalsin Sebastian County, compliments of Benton & Washington counties & ICE

Below you will find the two candidates for sheriffin Sebastian county’s answers to the questionnaire submitted relating toillegal immigration.  Of course it is upto each of you to ascertain the depth of their answers.  I appreciate those candidates taking the timeto respond.

Briefly, I will point out some areas critical to our countythat received no response.

1.     Neither candidate indicated they had anyinterest in pursuing 287(g) and Secured Community programs which would qualifyfor a 20% bonus for using the ICE 287 (g) program and a 10% bonus forparticipating in the Secured Community program…which removes criminal aliensfrom our country.

2.     As far as I know, Sheriff Frank Atkinson has notparticipated in 287 (g), nor has the sheriff’s department been active inarresting illegals; to the contrary his department aided and abetted illegals,e.g. OK Foods/illegal Mexican picnics at Ben Geren Park.  I’m pleased to report that corrupt practicehas stopped.

3.     No public comments from ICE, the Fort Smithpolice department or the Sebastian County Sheriff’s office regarding thehousing of illegal Mexicans & OTM’s arrested in Benton & Washingtoncounties and transported to Sebastian County for incarceration…and in the wordsof ICE, ICE does not want to subject illegals to the same search proceduresthat Americans undergo and at the same time, wants the Mexican invaders to behoused in a “hotel environment”.  So muchfor the uniform code of justice.

4.     The question becomes, in the matter oftransparency, why have we not had concern and outrage from Sheriff Atkinson, ChiefDeputy Young, Captain Hollenbeck & Police Chief Lindsey regarding thissordid mess.

5.     Has Sheriff Atkinson and/or Chief Lindsey signedonto this with ICE and the two NW Arkansas counties? Candidate Hollenbeck hasindicated there is a severe crisis re jail overcrowding.

6.     It is my understanding the city of Fort Smith& perhaps the county has been turned down 3 times by ICE when applying for287 (g).  Why have we been turned downand why not a public notice regarding same?

Why are the County Judge and the City Manager not publiclyaddressing these issues? Why isn’t the Times Record doing any investigativereporting on these issues?  Why isfederal immigration law 8 USC never cited by anyone when it’s enforcement wouldsolve all our immigration problems?

 Arkansas is one of 50sovereign states.  We are obligated tocontrol our borders and secure our citizens. The federal government is criminally involved for not addressing theConstitutional, legal and fiscal invasion/crises.  These are the United StateS ofAmerica, not the United State of America.

I’m sick of hearing cowardly politicians, beginning withGov. Beebe, a self-server in any venue, stating immigration is a federalissue.  Beebe is a political coward and aliar.

Thank you for your interest in the upcoming Sheriff’s race. I feel that it is extremely important to understand the issues at hand. I have over the years read and heard your legitimate concerns.  Over the last several decades our government has failed in dealing with the immigration issue. It seems to be the topic of every politician. Yet it appears that we get no results from Washington. Even the successful operation that Maricopa County Arizona has enjoyed seems to be under attack from Homeland Security and is currently under investigation by a federal grand jury.

 

I know that at a local level law enforcement is limited by funding. However, I feel that in the past I and other investigators under my charge have been effective in dealing with illegal immigrants when it comes to counter narcotic operations, identity theft, and forgery as well as gang related crimes. We will continue to fight and step up the effort against any illegal immigrants committing crimes in our county. As the supervisor over our narcotic investigators I am proud of the many cases that they have made. We have taken the lead as well as worked with Immigration, DEA and other law enforcement agencies in several cases involving drugs and forged documents and in identifying illegal immigrants for prosecution. I will request special training in dealing with this issue in coordination with Immigration and Custom Enforcement.

 

As you know Sebastian County is in a serious crisis regarding jail overcrowding as well as all the other issues in management of the jail. I can assure you that if I am elected Sheriff I will continue the fight against illegal immigrants committing the above mentioned crimes, while addressing the issues at the jail.

 

As to my position 8 USC 132a, 132c as well as 1644, I will up hold the law. We must ensure that the men and women coming to our country have proper documentation for hiring. It is primarily the responsibility for the employer to take all reasonable steps necessary to make sure they hire only legal documented aliens. From what I have read, it appears that the legal immigrants who are here to work and that have proper documentation are not the ones that are committing the majority of above mentioned crimes. Let us go after the ones that are violating the laws, selling drugs as well as promoting further crimes by use of forgery and false documentation.

 

In response to the illegal use of department funds and the failure to respond to the FOI request by Tom Young, I assure you that under my administration we will comply with all FOI requests promptly and professionally. We will keep proper documentation of how your tax dollars are utilized. I feel if you do right from the beginning you have nothing to hide. As Sheriff I would be a good steward of your tax dollars. The abuse of your tax dollars will end, all overtime payments will be for lawful law enforcement activities only.

 

I am a firm believer and supporter of our Second Amendment rights. I have and will continue to stand firm in my belief of the rights of our citizens to own and bear arms. This is guaranteed by both the United States Constitution and the Arkansas Constitution.

Joe in answerto your questions, I think it is up to the federal and state government’s toact on the illegal alien issue,, our jails aren’t big enough to take on aproject like this,, It has became a federal issue. The power has been placed inthe federal courts. Not the state and county level. I agree with you that it isa problem,, but we need to elect  officials in the US government that seethis has a problem, and think along the same lines that you do. As for yourquestion on the Ok Food Picnic,, our officers were there off duty getting paidto work security in case there was a problem there or with traffic. OurDeputies do the same thing for Whirlpool and Baldor, and anyone else that needsthe help. With that amount of people present in one place, it is ness toprovide security.  If our people were not being paid by the company, wewould still have to be there because of potential problem , and we don’t havethe man power to do that with. It would leave the rest of the county withoutprotection. So the companies pay off duty officers to work instead. The are nodeals struck with the Sheriff on this matter. They usually make contact with aDeputy that the have worked with in the past, and that Deputy contacts otherthat would be willing to work it. That’s why I had no paper work on this matterthat you asked for on your FOI.  I would like to mention since thishappened OK foods has not asked us for anymore help. This a service to anycompany in the County that needs help. Our Deputies don’t make that much money, and extra duty jobs helps them support their families. This is a practice inevery City, County and State in our Nation.  You may ask, then why werecounty cars out there. Because our Deputies are on call 24 hrs a day, 7 daysaweek. If an emergency happens while they are there, they can leave and servethe public. I hope this has cleared things up somewhat for you Joe. Thanks.

Oct. 17, 2009:  Chief DeputyTom Young speaking for Sheriff Atkinson is quoted as saying, “Law enforcementofficers shall always remember that he/she has sworn to uphold the law, abideby the law and protection the rights of all people as afforded by theConstitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the stateof Arkansas.” 

Is that afact?

A Freedom ofInformation request was filed Oct. 17, 2007 regarding O.K. Foods, Inc. “picnic”at Ben Geren Park, Fort Smith, Arkansas, where an estimated 3,500-4,000Hispanics, mostly illegal aliens, were in attendance.

The FOIasked for the following:

1.      Correspondence between SheriffAtkinson & O.K. Foods, Inc. or Russ Bragg, or Collier Wenderoth.

2.      Any orders or directives to Sheriff’spersonnel with references to providing officers at the picnic Sept. 29, 2007

3.      Copies of documents showing financialarrangements or costs for providing officers at the picnic

4.      Copies of any correspondence betweenthe Sheriff’s office and the Sebastian County Judge’s office.

5.      There were other questions asked andcan be seen at arkansasfreedom.net

The Sheriff’soffice responded in 1 ½ sentences. “No records exist as requested in items 1-5in your letter.” “If I can be of any service to your (sic), please contact me”. Signed “Respectively, Tom Young, ChiefDeputy”.   How do they know who to pay orhow much if they don’t keep records, much less where and for what purpose theirvehicles were used? His answer can only be construed as a cover-up. I wouldpoint out to Young, regarding his response, that mine was not a letter but aFreedom of Information request. 

It turns outthat the county sheriff’s office from on-sight observances at the picnic hadnumerous and various types of county vehicles and onsite personnel.   Deputies were commandeering most of the parkfor the 3 day event.  Officers wereperforming traffic control on the highway leading into the park. It remainsunknown who cleaned up the park and who paid for it.  Additionally, there were a number of publicschool buses providing unknown services.

O.K. Foods,it was discovered, paid the miserly sum of $1,000 for the 3 day event at BenGeren Park.  A call to the SebastianCounty Judge regarding these illegal activities between the Sheriff’s officeand O.K. Foods produced no information. The Judge said he was not aware of the event, but this was not a onetimeevent as it turns out. This is a case for malfeasance & misfeasance—the illegalexaction of taxpayer dollars, utilizing taxpayer vehicles, taxpayer personnel,taxpayer facilities and commandeering a public use facility for the purpose of2 criminal operations—O.K. Foods’ hiring of illegals, the county Sheriff’soffice protecting the illegals, and of course the criminal illegals themselves.

Back toAtkinson, sworn oaths to the Constitution, and the rule of law.

The authority for Sheriffs and other local lawenforcement officers to detain and charge illegal aliens and those whofacilitate their continuing presence in the United States is contained inexisting law and constitutional authority.  It does not appear to dependon Executive order or orders of the Chief of Homeland Security.

THE LAW:

Federal Immigration and Nationality Act

Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

“Any person who . . . encouragesor induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . .. residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect towhom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . .imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.”

1.      West End ….the political/economic ownership of downtownFort Smith, the CBID, stated they had no money to put into this quaint littlevenue and the CBID, i.e. Richard Griffin, declared “disregard financialconcerns and look at West End as a recreational amenity”.   Griffin further went on to state that WestEnd “sparkles” and he continued by saying “where did we get the idea that parkshave to show a profit?”  West End is nota public park.

Griffin’s awfully tight with his money and very loose withtaxpayers’ money.  Griffin obviouslyunderstands that West End is a financial loser and I’m amused that Mike Alsuppulled figures out of the sky and reached the conclusion that $45,500 would bethe operating expense and revenues would be within $500 of break-even.  Spoken like a true bureaucrat.

The Times Record stated to its readership that “Phil Whiteoffers to lease the property cheaply to the city just to keep it open”.   If anybody should keep it open it should bethe owner.  By the way, how much is “cheaply”?

2.      Ben Geren Park…..before getting into Ben Gerenand the salivating city & county governments, I keep seeing the phrase “Qualityof Place” being bandied around. The first question that comes to mind is howmuch did it cost taxpayers for some low level bureaucrat to create this touchylittle phrase?  Fess up, where did youget this phrase and while you are at it, tell us what it really means?  Reminiscent of government school phraseswhich are designed to make the taxpayers look simple and parasitic bureaucrats& politicians look smart.

It appears the deal has been cut for the city to annex someof Ben Geren and join hands with the county to create a huge expansionistprogram.

City Administrator Kelly already has the restaurant salestax passed, the revenues calculated and spent.

I will say here that I’m madder than hell that anyindividual that is a ward of the taxpayers, advocating a tax increase in thesetough economic times, should be kicked out in the street forthwith—Kelly andothers fit this description.  He goes onto say “750,000 for 2 girls’ softball fields, $2 ½ million for an aquaticcenter, and oh yes, 10 or more soccer fields (no cost given purposely?) specificallyfor illegal Mexicans & OTM’s, and poses questions, do we have more illegalsin these environs than reported or is the city anticipating another groundswellof more illegal Mexican aliens…which is it? If the county Sheriff, the Fort Smith Chief of Police, the FBI and otheralleged law enforcement agencies were doing their jobs, soccer fields would neverbe in the mindset, re:  multitudinousfields.

I have a suggestion, let the open-borders crowd, theslave-labor employers, the destructors of our standard of living, and those enamoredwith the “quality of place” jargon, pay the price for ALL the horrific costsillegals create.  I’m speaking of courseof Tyson’s, Simmon’s, OK Foods, Butterball, etc. and a host of constructioncompanies in the area, as well as organizations like the Chambers of Commerce,LULAC, MALDEF, LaRaza, Catholic Charities, and the Arkansas FriendshipCoalition.
