“Welfare? A cruel hoax.


WHERE DOES IT STOP, OR DOES IT—IN ITS WAKE ARE MOUNDS OF ECONOMIC ASHES AND HORDES OF BEGGARS—IT’S CALLED “WELFARE”                                                            January 24, 2013

Another proposed grand theft orchestrated against middleclass Arkansans, but not limited to, by Gov. Mike Beebe, a disciple of the Marxist Communist President Barack Hussein Obama, State Surgeon General Dr. Joe Thompson, Dr. Daniel W. Rahn, Chancellor of U of A for Medical Sciences, Dr. Clark Fincher, the Governor of the Arkansas Chapter of American College of Physicians; and some members of the Arkansas state legislature.

Do we feed them forever?  The aforementioned luminaries never, ever question why welfare numbers continue to exacerbate, what remedies are available which could terminate the lack of self-discipline and foster self-reliance, etc.  Instead, without any forethought, these subsidized bureaucratic and political elitists posit their position without feeling for the poor souls who are generating the funds for their entitlement feast.   In this same vein, the 30 year politicrat Beebe is proposing a 2% pay raise for state employees. It’s in your face citizens, and is a mirror image of precisely what Obama is doing to all America.  The producers are not receiving raises, as you well know, therefore why should government employees receive raises?

With the proposal to add 250,000 (that’s ¼ million) more non-producers to the welfare rolls will tally out to be at least 1,100,000 welfare recipients languishing & reproducing in our state alone. Arkansas’ population is roughly 2.5 million. Does that sound an alarm?  Citizens are not aware of how many illegals are dining at the welfare table—more corruption by Beebe and the state legislature. On bended knee, they shuffle to the music of the Walmart’s, Tyson’s, Stephen’s, the State Chamber of Commerce, etc.

Depending on whose numbers you accept there are somewhere between 2-5 million 3rd World, uneducated, poverty-ridden legal & illegal aliens entering our country on a yearly basis.  We as a nation are $16.4 TRILLION in debt, with a $75-100 Trillion in unfunded mandates, i.e. MEDICAID, Medicare, and Social Security. Notice that the Marxist Democrats gave approximately 3% increase in Social Security checks and those who have saved and had some wealth netted out less than they were receiving in 2012.  That is bald-faced thievery. The money was earned by hard labor and the DC thugs have dried up the Social Security coffers.

Not to bore, some specifics about government arithmetic and fabrication used by Dr. Joe Thompson.  Thompson asserts that with the 250,000 add-ons we would end up with 400,000 with insurance…tell us Dr. Thompson, who is we?  Thompson goes on to say that the add-ons would save 2300 lives per year…where is that crystal ball Dr. Thompson and is that the same ball that came up with the padded 250,000 number?

Next, an example of political doublespeak and outright dishonesty.  Dr. Thompson states that if the Ark. Legislature signs on to this not so Affordable Care Act, with the addition of 250,000 non-producers it will create 6200 jobs. Jobs? Jobs? These are not jobs they are positions. Dr. Thompson may be a bright individual but also devious & sinister. .  Those 6200 jobs bloviated about amount to a huge expansion of state government, no end in sight, all subsidized by the producers and he and Beebe are not producers. Government employees hold positions, not jobs, again all subsidized by middleclass, hard-working Arkansans.

What is the philosophy that states that a government may take by force from one group for redistribution to another group? Ladies & gentlemen of the legislature, it is Communism.  Your political vote-buying benevolence at someone else’s expense is not only unappreciated, it is highly resented.

It will be interesting to see how the former political party identified by the name Republican, now the majority, morphing into the Party of Irrelevance, handles the proposed abuses of middleclass taxpayers orchestrated by Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe and his Democrat Legislature. Do the POI’s have the backbone to terminate the Marxist attacks on our once free society?

Caught your performance on O’Reilly last evening.

You failed to make your case on your proposed pending legislation dealing with amnesty.  May I enumerate the red flags:

1.    You stated we needed legislation to deal with the illegal alien invasion. Please acquaint yourself with 8 USC, Sections 1325, 1324a, 1324c, & 1644.
2.    Your casual double-speak regarding sealing our SW border contiguous with Mexico was a non-statement.   Senator, this must be the first order of business with no gimmickry
3.    Government types are fond of spouting the number 12 million as the count for illegals nesting in our republic.  That is an insult to citizen intelligence.  Bear-Sterns did a detailed study re the illegal invasion a decade ago and opined that there were 20 million here and could go as high as 25 million.
4.    The deportation of illegals would solve our horrendous unemployment crisis.
5.    Billions diverted to illegals & special legislation crafted for illegals.  Cost?
It is extremely hard to believe, with your Hispanic history, that you will craft legislation that will be in the best interest of American citizens, as opposed to the 3rd World throngs that are presently residing here.

Finally, after the Republicans defeat in the last election, you & they caved on not only illegal immigration, the fiscal cliff, debt ceiling, etc.  which renders you & the Republicans as the Party of Irrelevance (POI).

ARKANSAS, THE WELFARE HEAVEN…OR IS IT HAVEN?

Governor Mike Beebe, the Arkansas Legislature & Altruism, i.e. Soft Communism.    January 16, 2013

Auguste Compte was born in France in 1798, inventor of Sociology and coiner of the word Altruism.  Altruism laid the groundwork in America for Political Correctness which has all but destroyed the 1st  & 2nd Amendments and virtually all important institutions.

Altruism is a philosophy holding selflessness as the highest virtue, which excludes rational self-interest.  Few individuals practice Altruism because of its totally destructive nature; however government uses sanctimonious Altruism routinely to buy votes and positions, i.e. all politicians & bureaucrats.  Simply put, producers provide unearned largesse to the Takers and as time goes by the demands of the Takers increase, ultimately destroying the abilities of the producers to provide for the Takers—what is left? Ashes.

Witness Government: In this case the positions of Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe & the state legislature in the matter of burgeoning & expanding welfare programs.

It is noted that the opponents of rational self-interest (individualism) have created environments which low-information citizens seize upon the “something for nothing” scheme thereby aiding & abetting our destruction. Implementation of Political Correctness has been fueled by the much bandied phrases, e.g. “make a difference”, “giving back”, “mentoring”, “volunteerism”, “compassion”, “egalitarianism” (stressing the importance of the collective over the individual) all of which paralyzes Middle Americans.  The faux philosophy has allowed the elites to launch an all-out attack, destroying individual freedoms, property rights, seizure of individual wealth, self-reliance; ultimately destroying the totality of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Rule of Law, and hands America over to the Global Cabal.

Before elaborating on the proposed Arkansas legislative destruction that is about to occur referencing Altruism (middleclass destruction), it is appropriate that remarks made by certain Arkansas leaders be topically analyzed:

1.    Governor Mike Beebe:  “Some people understandably, believe the federal government simply can’t afford to be throwing this kind of borrowed money at states” ($1 Billion per year for 250,000 new welfare takers), and Beebe said, “that money is going to be borrowed and spent regardless of whether Arkansas takes its relative pittance ($1 Billion per year is pittance?).  For us to decline the expansion (adding 250,000 more individuals to the current welfare rolls) would be to close some of our hospitals, conspicuously deny insurance to our working poor people and perpetuate an unsustainable system of uncompensated care (Beebe and his worn-out scare shtick & where is the proof?). And it would accomplish diddly in regard to the federal deficit”. (This is exactly the kind of thinking/actions which have bankrupted our republic. Incidentally, Arkansas is currently $139 Million in welfare arrears. )

a.    Does the governor have any comprehension of the true meaning of his quotes, and certainly he chose not to elaborate, only elements of fear which are absolutely ungrounded? His quotes would have you believe Arkansas is an island unto itself and amounts only to a mere pittance and not worth diddly when there are 49 other states and any number of Protectorates at the trough.
b.    What’s the genesis of the outrageous number 250,000? Let’s have a name!
c.    If 250,000 are added to the welfare rolls, how long can we expect the recipients to remain on the dole?
d.    There are no visible protests by citizens demanding to be put on welfare. The state’s urgency to accomplish this is criminal. The state practices this criminality on a daily basis by running TV ads, print media, and other forms of advertisements baiting people to join the welfare brigade.  In police parlance this practice can only be described as entrapment.
e.    No mention of the throngs of illegals gaming the systems in our state.  Defense?
f.    No enumeration or names of the hospitals allegedly forced to close, or why.
g.    Aside from his fear mongering of throwing old folks out of nursing homes, the governor & legislature should inform citizens when ALL the unconstitutional & illegal unearned Altruistic largesse will end, or does it continue to its logical end when all parties are consumed.

2.    Senator Michael Lamoureaux (R-POI) Senate Pro Tem:  “I don’t think there will be any cuts to Medicaid”…dittoed by the Speaker of the House, Davy Carter (R-POI).  There is some evidence that Lamoureaux & Carter have formed a serious nexus with Beebe (D).

The bone of contention is this, President Barack Obama created the “Federal Affordable Care Act”, which at this juncture is financially overwhelming business communities, exorbitant costs & rationed healthcare, and mammoth tax increases across the board.

To put all this in perspective, the bill for Arkansas welfare is a $5.5 Billion per year and escalating, devoid of means testing and as mentioned earlier, fraught with illegals and at this juncture presently there are 780,000 Arkansas residents on welfare out of the total state population of 2.5 million. The “shortfall” for this Altruist behemoth is projected to be somewhere between $140 million to $298 million for this year.

The governor and some members of the legislature are pushing for an additional 250,000 to the above population, presenting producers with a body count of at least 1,030,000 dependents bodies to mother. 

This feel-good Politically Correct Altruistic approach to government, which is nothing more than vote buying and position gathering, has all but destroyed Western Civilization, our heritage, and our standard of living…all by design brought about, in the main, by indoctrinated, dumbed-down citizen Americans who vote to retain elected & appointed invertebrate cowards term after term. OBSERVE.

The state & federal POI’s (Party of Irrelevance-Republicans) will fold like a cheap lawn chair in matters of importance…state Medicaid expansion, gun control, and nationally amnesty, gun control, tax increases, & debt ceiling abolition.  Precisely why Republicans have morphed into the realm of political irrelevance. POI’s  have only one articulated position…war & more war…what fools.

From Cicero to Uvalde.   Arkansas Senator Uvalde Lindsay—among many of his foolish statements the following quote sets the tenor for the 2013 Ark. Legislative session….Lindsay said “It wouldn’t be fair to extend Medicaid coverage to an additional 250,000 Arkansans for 3 years, then take that coverage away”.  His quote says it all.

More P.C.B.S. re: Illegal & 3rd world immigration


Steve Brawner in a column appearing in 1/11/13 Times Record “State Melting Pot Will Have More Salsa”.

BRAWNER IS CORRECT BUT THE SALSA LACKS CHIPS AND MELTING.

Brawner refers to the recently released Winthrop Rockefeller report, “A Profile of Immigrants in Arkansas”.  The report was for the edification of cheap labor, open border advocates, i.e. the Chambers of Commerce, government, and captains of industry.

Brawner, like many columnists, bandies the word “immigrant” in much too loose a fashion.  An Immigrant is defined as one that emigrates from one country to another, abiding by laws that the recipient country has in place; therefore Brawner is unabashedly categorizing illegal Mexicans & OTM’s as if they were here by invitation.  The aforementioned Rockefeller study indicates that 42% or MORE of the Hispanic population is here illegally and is costing Arkansas taxpayers an estimated $460 million just on their children’s education yearly.  This stat was from 2009-2010. With Hispanics proclivity to produce large numbers of children those numbers could have easily doubled. More importantly the study failed to identify the myriad of negatives Hispanics bring.

Brawner states that the study indicates Hispanics have had an estimated impact on Arkansas’ economy upwards to $4.3 billion that year. Brawner admits “the state spends more money providing services to immigrants than it gets back in taxes from them” (an understatement)—“but then, that’s the case with all of us citizens which is why the country has a $16 Trillion debt”.  Brawner attributing the $16 Trillion debt is due American citizens benefiting is a falsehood, much of the $16 Trillion debt is due to wars and more wars, foreign aid, global military bases, a huge standing army, business subsidies, ad infinitum…and oh yes, welfare for Americans which without illegals would solve the massive unemployment woes and those revenues produced back into the economy.

You see, if the 25-35 million illegals (not the 12 million number the government floats) nesting in the U.S.  were deported as 8 USC laws demands, there would not be these millions upon millions (both citizens & illegals) on welfare, drawing unemployment, et al.

To the real aspects of unbridled immigration: 90+% of all emigrants entering our republic are 3rd World, non-white, uneducated, poor, and as mentioned previously high child bearing individuals who have no history of any meaningful successes, i.e. arts & sciences.

This of course, all by design, orchestrated by corrupt states and the federal government.  Brawner, a former employee of former Gov. Mike Huckabee (POI), in all probability was involved in Huckabee’s criminal act in creating a Mexican Consulate in Little Rock, brought about in stealth, for the purpose of disbursing illegals to a 4 state workforce.   The criminal act is in violation of Article I, Section 10 of the US Constitution…look it up.

In the main, Hispanics bring their failed cultures, philosophies, and heritage to our republic and keep them alive, accompanied by little or no acculturation, no understanding the U.S. Constitution & the ideals it gives rise to, or our heritage & culture, as a matter of fact, most make sport of our rule of law and population’s achievements.

Does Brawner think for one minute that the transition from a predominately white culture to a 3rd World multicultural existence will accomplish what the white Founding Stock has achieved?  Furthermore; the public school system, in its new found ethic of political correctness, is a joke and has & is punishing American kids by dumbing down the curriculum while creating a dependent social welfare environment—devoid of CHIPS.

Another imaginative statement…”America is an immigrant nation that thrives on the fresh perspectives brought by ambitious newcomers”. Just where & what are these perspectives? Open borders & cheap labor types, of which Brawner seems to approve, are fond of stating “we are a nation of immigrants”…no, we are a nation WITH immigrants.

A quick history lesson for Brawner and other open border advocates, the following quote by Howard Sutherland…”Absent a founding group or majority; it would be no nation at all, but a random gathering of people of assorted races, religions, and nationalities, united only by their presence in the same land. With no native culture to provide national unity, the population would tend to fragment on racial and ethnic lines, ensuring division and strife as groups pursue their interests at each other’s expense”.

What is occurring today in the U.S appears to be a multicultural future, guaranteed to fail…this brought to us by a nexus between corporations and the national government, the government acting as the CEO…which is what created Nazi Germany in the 1930’s.   Our national destruction is by design.

The U.S. foolishly is the yearly recipient of 3-5 million foreign nationals (legal & illegal), while at the same time the federal government fans the flame for hundreds of thousands of abortions and paying for them with taxpayer dollars.  Our former preeminent republic is steeped in government filth and squalor.

Immigrants getting off the boat, happy, excited, full of anxiety and looking forward to trying to achieve their slice of the American Dream.

Note: after their long overseas voyage in not the best of living conditions, they disembarked the boats, in the case of men suit & ties and women in their clean ordinary frocks…civility abounded. Certainly not the case today.  When is the last time you saw male remove his ball cap when entering a building?

These were the people who entered the United States lawfully, proudly learned English on their own and in most cases became proficient, dedicated in adopting American heritage and culture, were not interested in changing it and their offspring contributed mightily to America. They came only for opportunity, not hand-outs.
All that changed in the 1960’s compliments of the criminally corrupt U.S. federal government who has refused to defend our national borders (sovereignty) resulting in millions of 3rd Worlders, some good, some bad, sneaking in to our republic illegally and were and are hired by equally criminal exploitive employers, e.g. Tyson’s, etc. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is equally complicit. The Chamber fans the flames for open borders and cheap labor.

Now observe what these criminals have spawned—preemptive wars, never to be paid for welfare & entitlements growing exponentially, destruction of our heritage & culture, massive unemployment, implementation of egalitarianism in our schools, a $16.4 Trillion national debt, &75-100 Trillion in unfunded mandates, socialized medicine, stifling laws which destroy our freedoms & property and have the capacity to deny legal representation, 60,000 government drones surveiling us,  and the beat goes on.

But in the end, who do we blame?  Is it not simpleton Americans who are infatuated with the 2 corrupt political parties who continue to reelect, cycle after cycle, the useful self-serving buffoons?  E.g. in the case of Arkansas I will name only 2 legislative zeroes, Sen. John Boozman (POI) & Mark Pryor (D) who are both declaring their support for amnesty for the criminals who have entered our country illegally, while wanting to confer citizenship on these same individuals who are not acculturating and fueling their failed cultures & philosophies in our country and in our American faces.

Citizens, in the recently concluded national elections, retained incumbents at the rate of 97.6% and these are the same useful, self-serving idiots that have caused our multiple national crises.

Please give Andre Rieu a listen; you will be rewarded for doing so and it may stimulate you to defend our culture with whatever tools you may possess.  Trading down does not breed success, precisely why the U.S. is in a nosedive to the abyss. This is one of the last glimpses of civilization.  Pity the young.

Deals From the Democrats & the POI.                      January 4, 2013

When the media & politicians exhort that deals are in the making—BEWARE!  The exhortation “Deals” in political parlance states loudly & clearly that middleclass citizens are about to be screwed again.

Citizens that are not comatose or complicit are aware that President Obama’s Arkansas’ enabler Gov. Mike Beebe is well on the way to putting another 250,000 (that is ¼ MILLION) residents on the Arkansas Medicaid welfare rolls.  I say residents simply because we do not know how illegal Mexicans & OTM’s are programed into the travesty and our governor, out of the side of his mouth, states he does not know how many illegals are nesting in the Natural State—a lie.

Enter incoming President of the Arkansas Senate Michael Lamoureux (POI—Russellville) who stated “I am open to Medicaid Deal” and he believes a deal can be accomplished that adds another 250,000 deadbeats to the welfare rolls of an already ultra-bloated bureaucracy. The august legislative body states it will not cost Arkansas citizens one dime, it will be paid for by the federal government…with what?  Are our legislators so simple-minded enough to believe anything emanating out of DC is an absolutism? And just where do said legislators think the Fed gets the money?

Lamoureux and other members of the former Republican Party, now the “Party of Irrelevance” (POI) will tell their constituents they are against more new taxes and for limited government.  What a crock!  Some of their POI brothers in D.C. increased the debt ceiling, accompanied by a current deficit of $16.4 TRILLION and 2 of the Arkansas’ POI’s voted to increase taxes (the Fiscal Cliff)—the “Travellin’ Man Senator John Boozman (POI), the tax & spender Rep. Steve Womack (POI-Rogers), and Rep. Mike Ross (D) who cast the deciding vote to enshrine us with Obamacare, followed by the big legislative zero Sen. (Pryor’s for life) Mark Pryor (D).

The “Deal” will be consummated as usual and middleclass Arkansans will continue to be oppressed with more political & economic burdens and cowardice.   The POI’s will fold like a cheap lawn chair pursuing their own perceived self-interests.

What is the end-game of “welfare mania” that Obama and his legislative disciples are pursuing—is it a 3rd World, multi-cultural, communist society?  It appears so.

Arkansas legislators do not seem to understand or care that our former preeminent Republic is bankrupt and if you question that remark look no further than the $75-100 TRILLION in unfunded mandates—Social Security, Medicare, and yes Medicaid.

The projected add-on will put at least 1,030,000 on welfare in Arkansas with a population of 2.5 million. Governor Beebe has added approximately 4,000 new state employees since initially taking office.  A study released today states the addition of 250,000 Arkansas residents to the welfare rolls will create 6,000 new jobs.  THE 6,000 ARE NOT JOBS BUT STATE GOVERNMENT POSITIONS, ALL OF WHICH DEMAND MORE TAX REVENUE FROM THE PRIVATE SECTOR WHO UNDERGIRDS THE WELFARE THEFT, COMPLIMENTS OF ARKANSAS LEGISLATORS WHO ALLEGEDLY ARE ENGAGED IN THE GUARDING OF INDIVIDUALS’ FREEDOMS & PROPERTY!
Do the existing and projected numbers not send cold chills up the backs of taxpayers?

Attack on Rep. Altes commentary


More vitriol & misleading remarks emanating from the pen of Ark. Democrat-Gazette editor Paul Greenberg  aimed at state Rep. Denny Altes (R)            December 30, 2012

Rep. Altes apparently plans to introduce a bill that will require federal agencies to get the local sheriff’s approval—in writing—before daring to conduct any kind of search—and—seizure mission in the sovereign state of Arkansas.   Editor Greenberg inserts the word “once” before sovereign state of Arkansas.  His reasoning of course is his leadership in bringing illegal Mexican aliens and OTM’s to our state en masse dissolving our sovereignty and creating a glob of 3rd World welfare seekers, while he and the Ark. Democrat-Gazette openly violate 8 USC, Section 1325, 1324a, 1324c, & 1644.

Greenberg, rather than addressing the specifics of the proposed bill speaks of crimes that occurred in the south and cute phrases, e.g. unreconstructed confederate, while denigrating Rep. Altes. Greenberg continually talks about Altes being an embarrassment—to whom and why?

Editor Greenberg fails to mention that county sheriffs are the chief law enforcement agents of a county and their authority supersedes that of federal agencies.  County sheriffs have long allowed federal agencies to steamroll their authorities; therefore it appears that the point of Rep. Altes’ bill is to stimulate sheriffs to fulfill their sworn constitutional duties.

From my vantage point and from any Arkansan who is familiar with the county sheriff’s role in law enforcement would and will applaud the efforts of Rep. Altes and here is why.  Federal law enforcement agencies are often corrupt to the core…money laundering, kidnapping, assassinations, torture, imprisonment without legal recourse, search & seizure without warrants, surveillance by drones, etc. etc. Hate crimes Bill, National Defense Authorization Act, Patriot Acts, and the Military Commissions Act, for openers.

I have not spoken with Rep. Altes regarding his proposed bill but the above are my concerns and I applaud his efforts and courage.  It should be noted here that Editor Paul Greenberg’s tribe has been the progenitor of most of the above attacks on Americans’ freedoms and property.

I sincerely hope that Greenberg’s vitriolic attacks on Rep. Altes and his accompanying cutting silliness will not deter Rep. Altes one iota.

For Rep. Altes to command such attention—the Southern Manifesto Interposition, Nullification, Sen. J. Wm. Fulbright, Asa Carter, George Wallace, the Confederacy, Bad Old Days, Neshoba county MS, NAACP, etc. etc. Altes must have hit Greenberg’s hot button. 

By the way Editor Greenberg, in all the details you showed Altes in your hit piece, you should know Altes is a Representative, not a Senator.

oh so-solemn proceedings haven’t even officially begun and already

because this proposal from state Senator Denny Altes of Ft. Smith and
Lost Causes brings back the Bad Old Days-specifically the Furious
Fifties and Seggish Sixties. Which is when demagogues of every
reactionary tendency roamed these latitudes from ever-calculating Orval
Faubus, our own nigh-Eternal Incumbent in the Governor’s Mansion, to
crude Lester (Ax Handle) Maddox of Atlanta, Ga. And every variety of the
species in between.

Together they left Southern history littered with their
leavings-Massive Resistance, the Southern Manifesto, Interposition and
Nullification and other such futilities and delusions. They were all
hollow at the core, though the styles of their proponents might differ.
Arkansas’ own J. William Fulbright with his intellectual pretensions
argued the case for segism with his characteristic high popalorum while
agitators like Asa Carter, George Wallace’s speechwriter, contributed
the low popahirum. (“Segregation today, segregation tomorrow,
segregation forever!”)

Nowadays one encounters such holdovers from those unsettled times
only rarely-a defeated candidate for the Legislature here, an
unreconstructed Confederate there. They may be the last vestiges of what
were called the Secesh during The War. They still materialize now and
then-like Marley’s Ghost clanking up Scrooge’s steps bearing the chain
he forged in life, link by link, yard by yard, dead weight by dead
weight. Which is what all those grand manifestoes amount to now, dead
weight, not that they made much sense then. Jim Johnson’s body lies
a-buried in his grave, but his spirit goes slouching on in proposals
like Denny Altes’ latest brainstorm, which is really more of a
fast-fading drizzle.

However diverse their rhetorical level, the glorified snake-oil
salesmen of the Bad Old Days used the good name of States’ Rights to
cover a multitude of sins, including defiance of the Constitution. They
might have loved a law that required the FBI to check with the local
sheriff’s office-say, the one in Neshoba County, Mississippi, where
those three civil rights workers were killed-before investigating a
federal crime.

Thank you, Denny Altes, for bringing to mind that whole ghastly
affair-indeed, that whole sad era. For we forget our history at our own
peril. Michael Schwermer, Andrew Goodman and James Chaney are names that
need to be remembered, indeed engraved in the Southern memory, and
their murder never forgotten. Or its lessons.

It’s hard to conceive of any American with an historical
consciousness, or conscience, who wouldn’t recognize what a bad idea Mr.
Altes’ latest proposal is. Even if he assures us that, should his bill
became law, federal lawmen could still stop a crime in progress
(whew!),and that, if the local sheriff himself was the one under federal
investigation, the FBI could get the needed permission from the state’s
attorney general. Like, say, Bruce Bennett, who was Arkansas’ attorney
general in 1964? Don’t make us laugh-wryly. Because ’tain’t nothin’
funny about it. It was said of General Bennett, who made a cause and
obsession of harassing the NAACP, that he knew more people and less law
than anybody in the state. Maybe the senator from Fort Smith could call
his bill the Bruce Bennett Memorial Act.

BY NOW even Senator Altes must realize what an embarrassment his bill
is, since he says he probably shouldn’t have filed it this year, just
as he filed a separate but equally nutty proposal for the 2011
legislative session. Some folks never learn. If he’s sincere when he
says he shouldn’t have filed this bill, the senator should waste no time
withdrawing it, and so spare both himself and the state further
embarrassment.

Other than making trouble where none now exists (between the federal
government and local law enforcement in Arkansas), it’s hard to see any
purpose in such a provocation in the guise of legislation. In the
unlikely event the Legislature actually passed Senator Altes’
misbegotten proposal, it’s even more unlikely the thing would hold up in
court, the Constitution and laws of the United States being the supreme
law of the land.

This kind of embarrassing thing should have happily ended with the
Bad Old Days, or even with the Confederate States of America. But some
of us seem stuck in an historical time warp. And while it’s easy enough
to have a little fun with their delusions, it is important, it is
imperative, that we all remember just how poisonous nostalgic little
games like Senator Altes’ can prove. They may not deserve to be taken
seriously, but they should be. We ignore them at our peril.

The best critique of recurrent delusions like Denny Altes’ may have
been delivered by George Santayana: “Those who cannot remember the past
are condemned to repeat it.”

There’s a reason Professor Santayana’s observation has become cliché.
It remains relevant. Especially whenever the Arkansas legislature
prepares to begin its regular, biennial session, and some legislator
introduces the by now almost mandatory damfool bill. This year it’s
Denny Altes. Who says the Ledge doesn’t have its traditions? This one it
would do well to skip.

Article & commentary on Secession


Kudos to Ark. State Representative Loy Mauch’s (R) dissertation on secession and its relation to the U.S. Constitution appearing in the Ark. Democrat-Gazette today.        December 28,2012

I begin with, and Rep. Mauch concludes his article with the following quote of Patrick Henry, “The first thing I have at heart is American liberty; the second thing is American union.” In a liberty-based society, liberty always trumps government! (Bravo, Rep. Mauch!)

Extricating a number of Rep. Mauch’s statements regarding secession and the U.S. Constitution, recall at each juncture those words of Patrick Henry and make a determination where the American citizen position’s himself referencing Patrick Henry’s utterings.

Rep. Mauch quoted Thomas Jefferson in his writings of the Declaration of Independence “That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government…”

All states have the right to secede and some reserve the right to secede in their constitutions, for instance Texas, Virginia, New York, and Connecticut.
Rep. Mauch alludes to a prolific author, William Rawle of Pennsylvania, friend and confidant of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. Rawke stated in oratory and the written word that secession is decided by the will of the people of their respective states and not by congress or a president.

It is patently obvious that President Abraham Lincoln willfully violated the U.S. Constitution in any number of instances, but most flagrantly in his war against the south. When the South surrendered in 1865 Lincoln continued his brutal killings & destruction by ordering Generals Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan to burn the South to the ground and further pursuing with his vicious attacks on Indian tribes. 

Arkansas did not recover from the War Between the States until the 1980’s and still suffers the stigma. The war was not a war to free slaves, it was about taxes & control…sound familiar? Freedom for slaves without bloodshed was rapidly evolving.
Quoting again from Rep. Mauch, “the folly of the secession petitions is it seems citizens are requesting permission to divorce themselves from the federal government. No state needs this authorization from their respective partners, and if one does not have the right to secede it is no longer free.”

The question now becomes, should any number of the several states implement secession? Are transgressions against the Constitution and the Bill of Rights substantive enough to institute the process of secession?  In that same vein, is the U.S. Federal Government, top down, constitutionally and morally fit to serve American citizens?

Following is a partial list of constitutional criminality and in many cases criminal, impeachable offenses that appear to be more than enough for a citizen-led effort to secede.

Most of the U.S. Congress & Senators have served decades in their respective bodies and the past two presidents, specifically, are primarily responsible for the economic & military quagmire in which we find ourselves. With that said it is sheer folly to believe the 3 self-serving, anti-constitutional  aforementioned bodies will solve the multiple crises where we find ourselves.  Therefore; the list begins:

1.    A $16.4 Trillion debt, coupled with $75-100 Trillion unfunded mandates, i.e. Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security…while the bloating escalates.

2.    Undeclared nation building wars under the guise of “wars on terrorism”, which are in fact nothing more than unilateral murdering.  Recall the military strike on Libya that President Obama unilaterally started and said would last days not weeks. The destruction has reached nearly a year, with Syria and Iran in the sights of the federal government.  Our republic is  nothing more than a warmongering machine.  Neo-conservative Republicans (e.g. McCain & Graham) are the current driving force for “eternal war for eternal peace”.  The Republican Party has earned the name “the party of irrelevancy” and further note the Republican Party, and why not, revels in stating they are the Party of Lincoln.  Lincoln was responsible for killing at least 600,000.
3.    The Patriot Acts—The Military Commissions Act—Posse Comitatas—Habeas Corpus—either dissolved or instituted against Americans, removing freedoms, privacy, the right of legal recourse.
4.    The National Defense Authorization Act—as horrific as anything Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin had to offer (a price tag of $640.5 Billion—an unfathomable figure): Citizen surveillance and assassination by drones, removal in the dark of night, imprisonment for undetermined amount of time, no legal recourse, etc. etc. etc. (What kind of an American would engage in this type of heinous behavior?) These activities can be and are used against American citizens. President Barack Obama has ordained himself as our country’s number one Assassinator.  The Act is in no way a defensive Act…it funds a killing machine.
5.    If the above were truly a defense authorization Act, why is our Southern border as open as a sieve allowing millions of Mexican and 3rd world OTM’s to invade our sovereignty?
6.    Why does the U.S. Federal Government not enforce U.S. law 8 USC, Section 1325, 1324a, 1324c, & 1644?  There are between 25-35 million illegal 3rd World nationals residing in the U.S. and drawing down on every welfare program known to Americans and others specially crafted for illegals.  Now the Ark. State House & Senate, with all the above in full view, are poised to put another ¼ million Medicaid deadbeats on the backs of suffering middleclass Arkansans.
7.    National Socialized Medicine (Obamacare) encompassing huge costs, rationing of health care, and necessarily enormous tax increases on everyone.
8.    President Obama is a Marxist Communist with undergirding provided by the Democrat Party and enabled by the spineless Republican Party, i.e. the Party of Irrelevancy.
9.    Our citizens suffering mightily while federal officials & electees dump billions in what they call “foreign aid” e.g. $3 billion dispensed to that postage stamp of terror Israel, Dec. 5, 2012.
10.    The United Nations  influences on the U.S. behavior, e.g. Agenda 21
11.    The Anti-terrorism surveillance law…60,000 drones overflying the U.S.  (By the way, who are the terrorists?  This act along with others has made a farce of the 4th & 10th amendments.

Does the above, either individually or collectively, merit the attention of Arkansans specifically and Americans generally, to seriously, objectively debate the idea of secession?  Unfortunately, huge segments of our society are ignorant, lazy, dumbed-down, self-satisfied, and/or married to one or the other corrupt political parties—then ask yourself, why do citizens continue to reelect cycle after cycle incumbent legislative zeroes who have authored & constructed all of the attacks against Arkansans/Americans, e.g. Ark. Senators Boozman & Pryor, and our 3 congressional incumbents?

U.S. states remain sovereign

— Much has been
written and discussed on the issue of secession petitions in the past
few weeks, and it seems that very few citizens on either side of the
argument understand the facts concerning this right. The first and
foremost truth that should be acknowledged regarding this topic is the
verdict of secession being legal or illegal. Since this issue comes
under the jurisdiction of the American Constitution, let’s start in
1776.

After a long train of tyrannical acts by England, the colonists
started seriously discussing a separation from the British empire. As we
should all know by now, Thomas Jefferson penned the Declaration of
Independence, which offered a legal defense for secession. Mr. Jefferson
plainly stated: “That whenever any Form of Government becomes
destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to
abolish it, and to institute new Government. . . .” Most people only
read the preamble to this magnificent American document, but one needs
to read it completely to fully understand what the colonists were
rightfully aggrieved over and their need for a secession from England.

After winning our War of Independence, the now-sovereign states
drafted and ratified the Articles of Confederation as their newly formed
government, our first Union. Note that not one state was coerced into
joining this confederacy. The Articles of Confederation stated that it
would form a “perpetual union,” but the union it created was not
perpetual. It lasted from March 1, 1781, until all the states that were
members of it had seceded from it to form a new union under the
Constitution of 1787. Again, not one state was coerced into joining the
new union or remaining a sovereign state.

After nine states, individually and not collectively, had ratified
the Constitution of 1787, this new government was now the law of the
land, but recognized only by those states that ratified it in their
respective state conventions. Furthermore several states specifically
reserved in their state constitutions the right of secession, and this
reservation, according to the rules of law, was ensured to the benefit
of the other states as well. A denial of the right of secession is a
denial of sovereignty, and secession was an obvious power reserved to
the states under the 10th Amendment.

A definitive explanation of all of this is a book titled A View of
the Constitution, written by federal abolitionist judge, William Rawle
of Pennsylvania, who was a contemporary of George Washington and
Benjamin Franklin and their personal friend. Mr. Rawle devotes an entire
chapter on how a state may lawfully secede from the American Union. He
plainly states that this event is decided by the will of the people of
their respective states and not by Congress or a president. Also,
Article VI of the Constitution articulates “that this Constitution . . .
shall be the supreme Law of the Land.”

Most people wrongly consider that the war in 1861 settled the issue
of secession forever. According to Article V of the Constitution, only
three-fourths of the several states can ratify or alter this document,
not the U.S. military, the president, Congress or the judiciary. In
other words, if secession was legal before the Civil War, it still is
today. Also, for any action to be deemed as unlawful, it must be
codified in law. That’s why we have elected representatives at the state
and federal level; to make certain actions illegal such as murder,
arson, robbery, speeding, texting while driving, etc. According to my
study of American history, no Congress yet has made it a crime to agree
with Thomas Jefferson.

Secession is a political divorce, and no union, whether it be a
marriage, business partnership, or union of states is irrevocable. Any
and all can be dissolved. The folly of the secession petitions is it
seems citizens are requesting permission to divorce themselves from the
federal government. No state needs this authorization from their
respective partners, and if one does not have the right to secede, it is
no longer free.

Fidelity to the Constitution is what holds the union together and
should be consensual. Unfaithfulness by any of its parties can justify
its disunion. I am in no way advocating any state leave this union, just
stating the legality of it and letting the readers absorb what I’ve
written and form their own opinions. I believe Patrick Henry said it
best: “The first thing I have at heart is American liberty; the second
thing is American union.” In a liberty-based society, liberty always
trumps government.
